Very sad news especially for somebody so young. A great coach by all accounts.
Condolences to his family and friends.

Read this last night and it shocked me a bit, had no idea he had been unwell. 60 is no age at all.
Seemed a genuinely nice guy and a positive character in the Deano years.
RIP and condolences to his family

Horrible news. Player and coach I always liked. The definition for me of a professional. Unshowy, consistent, not a star or an ego, just quietly, dedicatedly went about his work to the best of his ability

He was the year above me at Perry Beeches juniors. Cracking player then and we used to play down Perry Hall park after school and weekends, in the good old jumpers for goal posts days. Very sad and far too young an age.

Will always picture him and Deano on the sidelines together, those years after coming back up. No age, RIP Shakey.
