Get one back to lose another, a bitter blow. Terrific player when fit but almost an air of inevitability about it.

Lets see but if it is a bad one and he's out until at least Christmas that does suddenly free up a big transfer fee in the squad for UEFA. It's far from ideal and I'd much rather he be available though.

How does it free up a fee?

Probably couldn’t sell Bogarde though, so restrictive in other ways.

We can't include him in the Euro squad so his missing fee can be filled in the must have squad positive transfers in the first team.

The Belgian coach Rudi Garcia has stated 'Onana has a serious injury' That doesn't bode well at all. Knowing our luck it'll be an ACL injury!

Onana is out more than he is in, not his fault but we cannot afford a part timer.

So his cost of purchase is included in the calculation?

His amortised fee is I think. Which could be significant enough to register 2 players depending on their fees.

No idea what the cost will be included as it is all bollocks to me, but UEFA stated one of our restrictions was to be a net positive on first team squad transactions. So now we can register someone up to his current UEFA listed value.

Yep, exactly, so right now the squad has the Sancho wage, Luiz wage and Onana fee and wage free as space on the squad value calculations. If we bring in Bogarde and Kamara and replace the 2 in midfield we've still got the entire Onana fee, a big chunk of his wages and all of Sancho's wages as our wiggle room to break even on the cost of the squad. It makes Mbaye (for example) a viable option despite no major sales. We'd then have a problem in January when Onana needs to be added back in but a lot can happen in the meantime.
