Sunderland fans I've met have always been decent. They don't have the bizarre expectation that everyone should worship the ground they walk on that their crybaby neighbours have.

Definitely.

The Sunderland fans I've known have all had a similar self-deprecation and gallows humour to us.

The Newcastle fans I've met have been more like the Mancs, but with the additional crybaby-ness that you mention. Like Man Utd and Arsenal rolled into one, but with absolutely no justification whatsoever - and a spoonful of Everton arm-flailing.

One of those clubs I love to see lose at home because of the combination of rage and incredulity. "WE'RE NEWCASTLE! HOW DARE THIS BE HAPPENING!"

It’s true I said to them how fcuking horrendous it must be living next door to that shower.

And they said the same to you?

More or less.  They said that blues fans are really up themselves because they’ve got a whiff of money all of a sudden.

The play-off system is flawed in that they all start off more or less level. Australian Rules has a better system - third would play fourth, winners go through to the final. Fifth plays sixth; losers go out, winners play the loser of third v fourth. Winner of that plays winners of third v fourth.
Not quite. There’s kinda two streams. Top four 1v4 and 2v3. Next four 5v8 and 6v7. Winners of the next four play the losers of the top four, with the winners of the top four getting a week off. Then it’s semifinals and away we go. Higher ranked teams get home advantage.

Yeah but whatever the structure, they spend most of the time tussling, with no sleeves, in short shorts.

It's like rugby meets the movie 300 meets the Chippendales.

Sunderland promoted is fantastic with the added bonus we all know already who’ll finish bottom of the table.

Has anyone seen much of Chris Rigg? Supposed to be very highly rated but not watched him myself, it’ll be interesting to see if he can cut it in the top division.

At least sunderland have some good young players, Rigg and Bellingham come to mind.   Sheffield Utd would’ve stunk the place out again.

Fucking Leeds if there's any justice in the world.

No doubt, but they’ll be cut adrift by Christmas and as Drummond says I’d happily see Leeds take their place but they’ll scrape it with Farke and the vile tasting fizzy pop money.

Grealish not even in C115y squad today. I'd say he's off this summer

I know his record isn’t great, it’s not even good, but he’s been there and should have learned from it. I hope I’m wrong.
