Have got on with Sunderland fans since we beat them for promotion and two dear friends (one not with us any more) are Black Cats so a double pleasure tonight

Yeah, except when the fascist was their manager, I’ve always had a bit of soft spot for Sunderland.

Same, Sunderland were the second biggest club in objectively the best period in football history.

Yes, hoping Sunderland come up through the Playoffs.

Not only good at the sane time as us, but tend to lose (usually heavily) to us too.

They're so clearly the goodies in their rivalry too. They always were but even more so now.

Sheffield United would be very dull, plus we are quite often rubbish against them, at their ground at least. Mon the Mackems. Also United vs Wednesday is a proper derby so they should stay in the same division.

Yes, but I can walk to Bramall Lane and have some beer. And have bragging rights.

Fair enough. Though, obviously, the possibility of "bragging rights" goes both ways if we fuck it up...

I really hope Sunderland come up. My wife has family connections there and whenever I've been I've found them to be mostly decent people and that town needs some cheering up. Coventry on the other hand is a pretty spiteful little club with an unrequited and unhinged hatred for us. I've never enjoyed going to the place having worked there quite a lot and they really don't like Brummies. Sheffield United are OK but it's pretty pointless with them. They come up ruffle a few feathers then fold and get relegated again.

I wouldn't mind Coventry coming up, just for a season at least. They most likely wouldn't last long anyway.

Coventry has an inferiority complex to Birmingham as a city. Completely overshadowed.

Add that to Villa drawing a lot of support from areas Coventry would expect to be their catchment area and that’s where the one way hatred comes from.

Coventry are the weirdest of local fan bases. At least with with Albion and sha they are proper local and has been a two way rivalry since the early days. Cov are just as Villa obsessed as those 2 but are miles away and have never meant shit to us. Weird town, weird club, weird fans. Batch eating twats.
