Hoijland only turns up for games against us. Same with Garnacho .

Doesn’t make them good, so did Shane fucking Long.

Amorim looks woefully out of his depth thus far.

His insight into how football works is another level to the rest of us "It was the biggest difference of the game, they [Tottenham] scored and we didn't."

Man U are broke and the answer they give to solving their problems is to increase their commercial turnover, this after a record breaking year. I mentioned earlier this week that they are paying £200m a season to pay of the Glaziers' debt but I was wrong. It's £200m just to pay off the interest on the debt.

They're going to have to sell in the summer before they can buy. Amorim doesn't stand a chance of bringing in his own players. They're fooked. They need the Glaziers to sell but why would they, they have an asset valued at £5bn and they haven't had to invest a penny. Shame.

Anthony has scored again for Betis, he seems to be enjoying himself away from Old Trafford.

Just been watching the Juve v Inter match. Compared to our game yesterday, this was like a different sport. Played at great pace throughout, so many chances for both sides and, bearing  in mind that Juve have an important CL game in the week. Despite that, no holding back tonight as both teams gave it their all.

I'm just unsure why Amorim didn't just wait until the summer, there may be some decent jobs up for grabs, ones that will look more attractive than Man United. I guess they must have offered him a decent wedge, but in terms of his career, it just seems like an odd decision.

Amorim doesn't stand a chance of bringing in his own players.

That shouldn't really matter in the context of their current issues. If he's looking at the difference between 6th and 4th, or 3rd and 1st then those fine margins would obviously be important. But there's no reason why he should have managed the current bunch down the league to fifteenth

A good manager wouldn't look at the current Man Utd squad and think "they can't play my formation, but I'm just going to do it anyway until they either work it out or I get fired". You just work out a new way that means the players that you do have win football matches.

Emery's first half-season with us wasn't really like how he'd played at his other clubs, but he changed his way of playing to fit the players. He didn't stick Mings in midfield because the way he'd played before demanded a massive bloke in the middle of the pitch, and then whine when "his style" meant a load of defeats.

I think it's understandable though, three reasons why.

It might not come around again. He's obviously doing well and someone bigger than Sporting will be keen to pay him a load of money, but there are probably plenty of people who have decided "I'll just wait and do the next one", and it turned that the next hot young thing came along in the meantime, so you grab it while it's there.

Also, he's been an absolute, knock-out success with Sporting with every big club wanting him to be their next manager. So...why would it even enter his mind that he wasn't going to solve the problems at Man Utd? He's great at this, so there's no reason not to fix the massive club and become their greatest ever manager like he knows he's obviously going to....

...and even if he doesn't, they're a fucking basket case. If he fails, he'll still get his turn at PSG. Or Dortmund. Or Roma. Or Al-Alhi. There's no job that isn't on the table based on what he did at Sporting that was before, just because he's another one on the list of failed post-Ferguson Man Utd managers.

I'd have taken it if I were him.

Good job he did take it otherwise we probably would have finished 9th in the CL. Sporting fell off a cliff after he left, going from 10 points in 4 games to 1 point in 4.

All fair points. I guess you need a decent size ego to do his job. It still seems like way too much hard work if I was him!

On a side note, how can Jota just not be booked for diving? We all saw it, the ref saw it on review, if that isn't a dive, what is?

Edit: It feels like in the last few seasons that diving isn't being carded as much. Is that some rose tinted glasses look at the past?

Totally agree he’s a fraud at this level. But before he can buy don’t forget:

They’ve got:

Casemiro until July 2026
Mount until  July 2028
Anthony until July 2027
Rashy until July 2027
Shaw until the end of the season

That’s about as much as I can think of I’m sure I’m missing some.
