Interesting to see Rob Jones not send off David Brooks after being advised to do so by VAR, and doing so after veiwing the video.

I wonder what was stopping Anthony Taylor and his friends from doing the same at Sid James's Park? Was it too cold? Does being above the arctic tree line interfere with the screens? Or is Taylor just a useless fuckwit?

Lots to ponder there but I'm not waiting around. I say he's a useless fuckwit, I don't care whatever anyone else says.

He decided to ignore VAR even though they said Yellow, yes he is a Fuckwit and a cheating Manc Twat.

Taylor stated red before VAR got involved. They then agreed that Duran had caught him on the back which was enough to not be a clear and obvious error.

The Cucarella one was strange that he decided it wasn't enough for a red after being called over by VAR, especially as if it was just a yellow card offence, they wouldn't have told him. However I would also point our Cucarella took out Brooks quite early on in the match in a similar way and VAR did nothing.

I think Jones got it spot on last night, clear yellow card and VAR only seemed to suggest a red because of the ridiculous play acting by Sideshow Bob.

I wish Taylor had taken a second look at the Duran one but he obviously let the reaction of the Newcastle fans and players convince him it was red and then he was never going to change his mind, so they all just circled the wagons to protect him. Emery was spot on when he said they just needed to slow down and take a minute to think about it.

Talking of refs, my brother knows a League One ref and they had a massive meeting recently with the lot of them to tell them to stop giving out so many yellow cards as they believe too many have been given. It must complicate some decisions a bit if in the back of your head you're thinking 'I'd usually book that, should I?' but I guess it separates the wheat from the obviously glorious chaff we have to see what courage they have. I guess it's a fine balance and ever moving.

Apparently a certain team had a goal disallowed for a soft offside by the scorer. Tay fair.
