Yes poor decision and now let’s see how Southampton are going to throw this away.

Not only a poor decision but it took so long it’s changed the trajectory of the game by draining the momentum Southampton had.

VAR just needed to check if Cam was onside, which he was. Why was the ref not sent to the screen to have another look? Basically, the VAR has re-refd. the  game which is not what they are there for. A shit decision and once again, the life is sucked out of the game, week after week.

If i understand it right semi-automated offside (if and when it ever happens) is all about the timing of the pass and the positioning of the players. So that would have been a goal. No f*cking about with who else dangled a leg near the ball 15 yards away with no consequence. And all about what the ref and lino thought - plus a check on the scorer.
Can't imagine why they're persistently delaying the introduction of semi-automated ??

Archer scores but ruled offside
Southampton absolutely robbed. One of the worst VAR decisions I can recall.

The Brighton defender had already committed to try and stop the cross before Armstrong flicked his heel up. The latter action had no effect at all upon the trajectory of the ball or the behaviour of Brighton defenders. Under the rules defining interfering with play that was not doing so. Terrible decision

What an utterly ridiculous decision
That's got to be up there as one of the worst.
And probably one of the longest delays while VAR tries to find a way of disallowing it.

VAR is terrible, surely it’s not been brought in for the explanation they have given to rule out the goal. Have these people ever been football fans themselves? Makes you wonder doesn’t it?
