Why is Lewis playing , he's done absolutely nothing in the game to warrant full England caps .

There aren’t a massive amount of options in the left back position. Shaw and Chilwell are injured. Trippier is a right back and retired from international football.

Which leaves Tyrick Mitchell and Rico Lewis. You may as well pick one and see if they can make that position their own.

And given Lewis has been in Carsley's under-21 squads for a year now, why wouldn't he go for him?

Is Shaw injured?  He’s been a mainstay for years.

and Lewis is a 19 year old kid who has over 50 appearances for one of the best teams in the world and was a regular for Carsley in the U21s so "done absolutely nothing" is completely unfair anyway.

Of course he is, he's always injured.

Especially when he doesn’t look out of place playing for the best team in the league, a club who can easily go out and buy a world class left back if they choose to do so.

If Angel Gomez is an international quality midfield playmaker, then so must I be.

He has 40 caps for English age group teams, half of them with the U21s and he was with Tottenham as a kid before going over to PSV. I get that not everyone pays attention to youth football but I have no idea how you came up with him being French, I could understand Dutch.
