The most relevance to Villa in Ireland V England match was Coleman injury.
Everton have issues at right back can enjoy  legend Ashley Young back at Villa park !
Not a legend.

I love ash personally.  Unbelievable what he did for this club
Still not a legend.

Yeah, the Man Utd stint means he isn't.  See also D Yorke.
Young is a premier league legend.
And to me a Villa one.
Young came back. I think he's been great at Villa. But people can have differences.
Some say Agbonlahor is a Villa legend some don't.

In Gibraltar to knock off couple of bucket list items. First visit and later watching Gibs play Liechtenstein at the Euro Point stadium.
Don't forget to visit Morrissons

Who on earth is angel gomes?

How do you have (a) big opinions about Lee Carsley's managerial capabilities and (b) no idea who either Angel Gomes or Noni Madueke are, two of the most important players in Lee Carsley's teams for the last two years?

It's almost as if you have no idea about any of these things.

I'd never heard of Angel Gomes either, despite us playing his team last year. I think it's completely fine to think that Lee Carsley isn't the man to manage England. 90% of England games are piss easy, so almost anybody with their coaching badges should be able to get England through the qualifying games.  What you need is that bit of quality when the chips are down in the latter stages of competitions, and the ability to find solutions when things aren't going well. To do that I think a high quality manager who has a proven track record in a top league is the sort of bloke you want.

Thinking that Carsley is going to fail is perfectly fine. Let's face it, for a lot of people every possible scenario apart from winning the 2026 World Cup will be a failure. And England are more likely to NOT win the 2026 World Cup than they are to win it, under Carsley or anybody else.

What's a silly position though is "Lee Carsley's name has not entered my head between 2010 and the day he was announced as interim England manager, but I've decided that he will be awful".

On Carsley's abilities I'd certainly be very interested to read anyone who has (a) watched a load of the under-21s under Carsley and (b) thinks he'll do a bad job. Or a good job. I've watched none of the under-21s, so I'm pretty comfortable knowing that I don't have a clue about how good or bad Carsley is, beyond the fact that he won the Euros last year. Which at the very least suggests that he knows how to manage a team in a tournament, how to manage the egos of young millionaires who are normally rivals, how to set a team up etc. It's not like they're sticking you or me in charge.

But the other thing I do know, is that nearly all the successful international managers of the last twenty years or so are not "managers who have a proven track record in a top league", they are people who have been part of their country's international setup. Lionel Scaloni and Luis de la Fuente don't have a "proven record in a top league". They barely have any record in any league, they've spent their time managing the younger international groups.

That doesn't automatically mean Carsley will be an amazing success. But the most damning opinion on Carsley that about 98% of us should be offering (and the poster I cited is definitely in this group) is "I have no idea at all how good or bad he might be".

Hey Footy don't take it to heart, if you look above I think you will find the gaffer had already had a word about the trolling allegation.
Personally, I think Ashley Young was great even though he went off to the red filth for a time. Always conducted himself right and a top drawer professional, borne out by the fact that he can still get a game at Premier level at 39. Feel much the same about James Milner.

Portugal v Scotland….1-0 to Scotland a team containing Ralston, Hanley, McKenna & Dykes getting anything from that game will be a hell of an achievement

CDBF will hope they can, it's the biggest game of the season for him.

I’d be a bit concerned looking at a bench with likes of Ronaldo and Felix tho…midfield will give them a game though, hopefully booting Fernandes up in the air constantly
