An extra two games isn’t what we needed this season.

That defeat is so damaging .

Yeah, even a point would have helped. Have a feeling we'll finish 9th or 10th but if we're still 8th after tomorrow, it's game on.

We will probably be 11th after tomorrow's games - Brest, Milan and Bayern have winnable games.  Sporting could possibly overtake us if they overhaul the GD.  Arsenal will probably win too.

Even if we batter Celtic, we're almost certainly going to need 3 teams (that are likely to be above us) to lose or draw.

Atletico Madrid are away to RB Salzburg who have nothing to play for.  We can catch them if they draw though.
Atalanta are away to Barcelona.  Barcelona have already qualified, so can rest players.
Arsenal will probably be uncatchable after tomorrow - their games are against Zagreb and Salzburg.  Easy.
Leverkusen home to Sparta Prague - easy win
Inter away to Sparta then home to Monaco - should be enough
Brest away to Shaktar then home to Real Madrid
Bayern away to Feyenoord, home to Slovan Bratislava.  Should be 6 points
Milan home to Girona, away to Zagreb.

I think the best we can hope for (assuming we turn up against Celtic) is that some of those easy looking wins turn out to be draws; but I think we're going to be in the playoffs.

Yep, the recent injuries haven't helped and it's beginning to feel a little like the second half of last season when we ran out of steam and became very predictable.

Still a game to go but looks like the games against Bruges and Monaco have done us. Bruges weren’t great but gifted them a goal and strolled about with no urgency but in comparison to Monaco, Bruges were like Brazil 1970, can’t believe how shit they were and how crap we were tonight. 1 point in either game would have done us the world of good.
I’m probably overreacting but we knew what we had to do tonight.

Hope not. I thought Aug-December this year was our "shit half"!

It’s hard to work out but it looks like we are unlikely to get in top 8 even if we beat Celtic.
It sounded like Uni thinks we have missed out on top 8 given the post match interview. Tyrone appeared almost shell shocked and distraught.

Did he? Looked quite casual and matter of fact, as normal in the interview I saw.

Bad form to quote myself but

I’ll add that it’s a sign of our progress that I’m disappointed with not getting results against perennial Champions League teams but if we’d lost having given it a go it’s a different matter. There’s a team trying to stop you but we can and have done better.

For all I love Tyrone and I do.  His errors have really cost us in this tournament.

Certainly don't need them at the start of February.
