Yes. I think it was mentioned on here.

Anyway it’s definitely Blackpool away for the Aston Villa U21s.

Blues are away at Exeter, I think.

Blackpool vs Aston Villa U21 in the (newly named) Vertu Trophy is now scheduled for Tuesday 17th December 2024 at 7pm. Most games in this round of the competition are being played the week before, however AVFC U21s are playing Leipzig U21s that week, which I assume is why the Blackpool game is taking place the following week on the 17th.

With 22 teams going through to the knock-out stage (to be joined by 10 teams from a separate route), still a decent chance we qualify, with Leipzig on Tuesday 10th December our only remaining group game.

If we win we qualify, if we lose we are out.

If we draw, we need at least three of the following to happen:

Liverpool lose at Girona (Tue)
Bayern Munich lose at Shakhtar (Tue)
Dinamo Zagreb fail to win vs Ceitic (Tue)
Leverkusen lose vs Inter (Tue)
PSG lose at Salzburg (Tue)
Lille lose vs Sturm Graz (Wed)
AC Milan fail to win vs Red Star (Wed)

I'm going to that with 4 Villa Lads from nearby Preston. Well it's a day out and a new ground innit ?

I will be at Blackpool too. It’s not a new ground for me but it’s going to feel like a new one as my one and only previous visit was in 1975 in the old second division. Showing my age now! If memory serves me correctly we won 0-3 and Brian Little was one of the scorers. I imagine the stadium has changed a little bit in the last 49 years.
