Goalless after 25 but Villa well on top.

On this showing I think Borland looks a great prospect. Jimoh, Broggio and Young all looking threatening as well.

Katsukunya looks big, quick and strong which will help him step up as well.

1-1 coming up to half-time. Only just tuned in after seeing the post about it being on TNT.

Apparently Cotcher scored ours.

Won 3-1, I only saw about 10 mins of the second half while making a coffee, and we looked very dominant.   Hemmings in particular looked very good. A big lad, but also very composed - one break from the middle on the turn and through-ball was very good indeed. Breaking the lines in the way Chuk Jnr used to do at youth level.  The young lad up front (Burrows I think they said) missed a couple of good chances, but at least he was getting into good positions.

You can't tell much from 10 minutes, but if that's the standard of European youth football, we must be one of the much better sides.

3-1 to us and we were dominant. Crotcher (didn't see it), Broggio with a shot that was going wide and deflected in and then Broggio a goal that was his.

Looks like we've got some very promising kids coming through this batch.

That was our first win in the competition after losing the first two against Young Boys away and Bayern at home. Currently 20th although several teams below us play tomorrow so could drop a few places. Still above Arse, Real and a few other "big" teams though.

My mate went to this earlier and met Gianluca Pagliuca, who was wearing a Villa top. Well one of those is true!

A few of us have met him in The Barton's. He has a Villa tattoo, assume he wasn't showing it off yesterday as he's their goalkeeping coach.

They showed him on TNT. I think as the story goes, it was Spink coming on as a sub in the European Cup final that made him a Villa fan.

From 10 years ago. He was a fan from 81 and watching the English League for the first time.

The poor bloke came all that way and, for his troubles, was treated to successive nil-nils against Sunderland and Palace that were mind-numbing even by "2010s Aston Villa" standards.

Not sure he's been back since, with the exception of this week's work commitments.

He never should have left, he has claret and blue blood, glad to see him back. Lerner and Lambert were useless cvnts.

On Rory Wilson, why do German clubs think little of paying an unproven teen £20k a week from the UK why we, not exactly skint, won't budge? I understand it might break a payment structure but if other clubs think he's worth it, shouldn't we?
