According to a post I have just seen on Instagram, apparently Heck has told VillaTV that the kit will be released a few days after the Euros finish.

What a load of shit. If the deal is partly based on how many shirts get sold, will Adidas be compensating us?

They usually do all the videos and photoshoots before the players fuck off at the end of the season. They probably have the kit to show off, but need the top dogs like Watkins and Martinez back to strut in it.

He only said they will reveal it then, but it won’t be on sale till later. So maybe they are waiting on stock as I can’t imagine they will wait for the store to open.

Guessing these things come over by sea…

My biggest worry is that they're bringing it over stripe by stripe.

And saw this, wtf is it?

"Aston Villa 1996 Blank-Out Shirt"

Weird.

The description says "Wear your pride in Villa's 1990 season and the club's history with this blank-out shirt based on the kit worn by the team that year. Featuring the crest, sponsor details and pattern of the original 1990 shirt, but all in blank-out white 'colouring', this is something many a Villan can be proud to wear, whether you were there for the original season yourself or want to pay homage to an era of your club from well before you were born. The classic collar with a single snap fastener is yet another nod to a bygone age and its iconic style.

Clearly an error, I'd say. It doesn't appear to have a fastener on the collar for a start,
Yes, that text doesn’t make any sense. You can just make out that it is the Reebok AST shirt, but I’d certainly want to see it in real life before buying! I’ve got the England 1970 blackout shirt, which is made by Score Draw I think?

It's the 1990-1 Mita Copiers shirt 'whiteout' - similar to the 'mash-up' shirt made out of all 3 shirts from that season which is nothing short of an abomination.  Who buys this tat?

Blimey I had an email flogging these this morning; do not adjust your sets [some sort of google eyed emoji]

I can’t quite imagine who would buy these, but then I did go to a wedding once in Santa Barbara with a red Man U shirt worn by the groom under a waistcoat, I guess these are more subtle ways to wear ‘colours’???

I'd imagine they'd like it to get as much attention  from the football world as possible, so makes sense not to do it while there's a big tournament on.

Certainly.  But Heck also intimated that they won't be available for sale until a while after the unveiling (a few days after the Europs), so makes sense to continue waiting for the time being.

My worry is whether storage promises were kept or not.

I would imagine 1st July is a catalyst for a lot of stuff

FFP / PSR close off
Potential volume of outgoings identified
New signings announced

Would imagine a huge reveal like this one would be better with a few new faces in the kit

Have we ever had a bunch of new signings announced to coincide with the release of the new kits? I can't remember it happening.

Not so much ‘a bunch of signings’, but the 2007-08 kit reveal modelled by Marlon Harewood still haunts me to this day.

Ha! Sounds like an exciting an announcement.

"I've got good news and bad news. Good news, the new kit's out! Bad news, you'll never guess who's wearing it..."

Also after the election.

Villa always get better kits under a Labour government.

I dunno, 1980-82 kits were pretty good.

We've only won two league cups under Labour, doesn't augur well for us if Keir becomes PM.
