Liverpool, I believe, have a rare deal with Nike(?) that allows them to keep a much bigger part of the merch sales than most clubs have. Can't remember the exact numbers but I think a lot of clubs get about 7-9%, whereas they get to keep closer to 20%.

Speaking of which, their new shirt is dreadful. What's going on with the collar/neckline? Looks terrible.

Yeah, they wore it on Sunday. Thought then it looked odd.

EXCLUSIVE. Aston Villa will earn around £20m a year if two conditions are met as part of a new 5-year deal with Adidas. The base fee is £10m p.a. Adidas will pay an extra £7m-£8m if the club sells 300,000 shirts/season + £3m is a bonus for qualifying for the Champions League.

300,000 doesn't sound like a huge number in global terms? But I have absolutely no idea how many we normally sell each year?  I'll be honest, I like Adidas stuff, and this is the first shirt I've considered buying in about 20 years (even though I haven't even seen it yet), but I've no idea if I'm an outlier...

Think I saw we sold around 240k a couple of years ago, so seems very doable given it's now Adidas, we're doing well, and in the Champions League.

hopefully a few argentinans . Maybe we need a korean or Japanese player next :)
Might have more chance of doing that if the club took the Spanish language version of the News section on the OS more seriously.

I cannot fathom how somebody has been paid to design that and someone else has said, yeah that one.  Surely it will flop, particularly after this seasons was a bit of a classic.

Heard one of the shirts is a almost a nod to one of the players playing for the club. Tried guessing who that would be and what is meant by that and all I can come up with would be Martinez - Argentina - Adidas design Argentina's kits so the away/third kit would resemble Argentinas? The other one was Bailey - Jamaica - Adidas design Jamaica's kits - large Jamaican community in Birmingham and the yellow shirts we've had in the past.

Or it's the Belgian light blue shirt/brown shorts combo.

Same. I’ll be purchasing my first current strip this summer based on the fact it’ll be Adidas, plus we ay shit no more.

Fickle? You bet!

Yellow away tops haven't brought us much luck in the past, I would not bring them back personally.

Blue and white stripes would work as an away kit. Claret shorts.

We have Emery. Luck isn’t relevant.

They should learn English; it's not the English Premier League for nothing.
