I think Atalanta would be worst. Combination of very difficult tie but also don't get any credit if you do win as they're not yet recognised as a big European club. I reckon they'd be streetwise and annoying as fuck if they were defending a lead, too.

Agree here with CD, Dortmund are a good team but I think Atalanta would be a tougher test. We’d beat both Sporting and Bruges.

Preference for me is this order: Bruges, Dortmund, Atalanta.

Atalanta are too good. Dortmund are shite this season. I'd back us to beat Bruges over two legs any day of the week.

But in terms of our players having two matches against the players from either Dortmund or Atalanta, I'm not sure it makes that much difference. They've both got loads of players who have played dozens of matches at the business end of European competition, and some who haven't. Some who've done well and some who've done badly.

So I'm not sure Dortmund as a club having played more in Europe in a time before any of these players were playing for them is much of a dividing factor.

I agree, and don't really care, I was just pointing out that the comment wasn't that Atalanta are inexperienced (which would be wrong) but that they have less experience than Dortmund.

If they both get through then either tie will be tough, which is to be expected in the last 16 of the champions league.

Dortmund were impressive v Sporting. Strong, direct, and clinical in their finishing, they would be very much my team to avoid.
