I think I'm done with season ticket after this season. I've become more rational as I get older and the joy I get out of going to Villa Park is reducing while the price continues to go up. I will be sending them an email to let them know how unhappy I am but I realise how futile that is. It will make me feel better though.

It should be an opportunity to protest and this will show how, as a football nation, we simply don't have the unity that there would be in Germany for example. For all the noise we make on social media, I don't think we'd achieve a mass walk out or boycott at Villa Park so there is no deterrent to Villa for these decisions. I hope I'm wrong

I've just read that corporate/executive members are being given maximum away points so they will be in the 1st pot for CL away tickets regardless of previous history.  This is on top of a subset of away tickets being reserved for Hospitality as they've been doing with the league aways.

At least they are being consistent. Rewarding those with fat wallets rather than years of loyalty through thick and thin

Where else do they get the firepower from then? The club seem to be doing very well on the commercial arm. But competing today (when our commercial revenue still lags behind others) means cash has to come from other sources. You can make the argument that we should just cut our cloth accordingly, but I can’t see a mathematical solution to our financial needs that doesn’t involve squeezing the fans.

As I say, I hate it and I don’t think I can afford to go now.

It really isn't necessary. It makes so little difference to P&S as to be pointless, and on top of that you will have families like us who might go to CL games at the sacfrifice of other games that are not as easy a sell for the club.  Yes, if we don't go to Bayern  the club can say someone else will take those tickets - can they replace us when we don't go to Southampton and Brentford as a result of paying for CL games?

If you’re paying more then surely you expect a certain standard of service? This has come on the back of the conditions for supporters inside Villa Park. Huge queues, terrible toilet conditions, supporters being moved to seats that don’t exist and missing some of a game due to a lack of organisation.
I get the price hike to a certain degree and why they’ve done it, although the prices they’ve come up with are a kick in the balls and way over the top. I expected a costly ticket price but this has alienated loyal supporters who just can’t afford these extortionate prices.
It’s been one thing after another for a few seasons and it makes supporters feel used and abused and rightly so.
If they want a ground full of tourist fans who spend 100’s every game then they are getting closer to it with every decision they make.

I've read of Villa wanting to accelerate finances in keeping with how well we have done on the pitch, so I suppose pricing like this is what that looks like. Maybe Villa should think longer term in terms of growing the commercial side, rather than just breaking bonds with supporters, which is what this will do.

Agreed. An extra £20 a ticket is less than £1m per match - absolutely piss all in the scheme of things.

We took a Bournemouth based Celtic fan with us to Wigan a few years ago. The 3-0 defeat. He got pissed up lost us completely before the game. We called him at half time and he had ended upeeting some other Celtic in corporate and went in with them. He couldn't find the mini bus afterwards and it took an  hour to find him. A very late trip back to Bournemouth. He was never invited again...

I think every Villa fan has realised that prices will rise compared to five years ago, and that has happened. But there comes a point where those prices aren't justifiable. For those (thankfully few) people trying to justify the club's actions, where do you draw the line. £150, £250? If not, how much? Everything has gone up, loads, and for the majority of people in GA seats, not one single thing off the pitch has improved, and for most, it's actually got worse.
