They shouldn't be allowed to. They haven't consulted properly and nobody at all has agreed to it.

The delay in releasing the design officially, after saying it would be released in Feb, means that any attempt to hold them accountable over their handling of this, & potentially any changes forced by the FA due to them not consulting properly means that it will be virtually impossible to make any changes.

Its almost like the delay is intentional.

New badge (I assume) being used on their website:

https://kaizengaming.com/aston-villa-and-betano-announce-principal-partnership/

Adding a screenshot, in case it turns out someone has screwed up and the badge gets swapped out sharpish...

That has happened!  I still can't believe that they are going ahead with that design.  It looks awful.

On that background it looks even worse, looks like something that was first viewed in Netscape Navigator.

What I really don't like about it is that the numbers and letters just don't go together. Different colours and font style just makes it look odd to me.

Certainly appears that way.

It's all been said before, but they've just made the Lerner design worse. The yellow lion on a pale blue background always looked rubbish, and now they've added white numbers which stand out even less. The lion looks crammed into the top of the shield and it's all badly spaced. The drop shadow is really amateurish. It was a poor design to start with, and now it's even more shit, which takes some doing.

Yep, I still can't believe someone has come up with that and others have agreed it.  It's genuinely terrible.

A lot of the matchday full time staff are wearing the 150 logo badge that was on here some months ago so must be the one going forward.
Even seen it embroidered on a few polo shirts as well

So when are they letting every one know about that?
I thought they already had?

They had a massive fuck off banner of it on the centre circle on Sunday, so I don't think they're trying to keep it a secret.

Being at ground level i did not see it - i genuinely thought it was Acorns

Everything on the pitch is amazing.

Off  the pitch is a disgrace. We could be in the Champions League next season and that horror show of a badge could be what people see representing us. It is honestly the worst villa badge ever for me, even the stripey 90s/00s ones were better as they looked sort of traditional. Villa is a traditional club, why not lean into that? This new crest shape is like something from Pro Evo and it's back to the pale yellow on light blue.

I don't see how this propels the club forward. I really don't like the way they handled moving on from the round badge to this one

It is absolutely horrendous and will be changed yet again. Most of this is because of the star BTW.

The current shirt sponsor ship deal front and sleeves see Villa 11th in league for money
Manchester City 87.5m
Manchester United 67.5m
Arsenal and Liverpool   60m
Totttenham 50m

Just on this, Man City still look they are inflating their revenue. How is their shirt sponsorship 50% more than Liverpool given the global size of the two clubs?

Trophies i'd imagine. Winning titles and cups galore gives their sponsors a lot of exposure. Not saying it's bang on market value but 12 trophies v 4 in the previous 6 season should make a difference. And that's not including stuff like charity shields and club world cup or whatever it's called.

If the Betano announcement background is a clue to the new shirt, is it going to be stripes. Does anyone believe Heck would change the shirt design to make us different from West Ham/Burnley. It would be easier for his rebrand if our shirt was different to any other team.
