No comment on our badge there but I hope the Betano logo they've used is what we get on the shirt, looks much better than their normal logo that looks a bit like an arse.

It's good news.  You can question the morality, but it's just replacing an inferior deal from the same industry.  We need to take the best commercial deals on offer whilst we try to start to bridge the huge financial gap.

We do. Current Ground now practically full much of the time and any big upgrade will be later this decade.

TV revenue will be best ever this season.

Commercially we are light years behind some so need this type of jobber

New badge (I assume) being used on their website:

https://kaizengaming.com/aston-villa-and-betano-announce-principal-partnership/

Nice that we got the promised announcement/reveal before a betting company partnership.

And it would appear that if this is the final version, they learned nothing from the feedback & they had the trademark request done on the Lino-print fan made version just so that fans couldn't make that version.

The communication between the fans & that twat Heck couldn't be fucked up any more if a Small Heathen wrote a script for it.

Didn't they say they were aiming to reveal the kit earlier as part of the 150 celebrations? Is the sponsor being announced prior to a kit reveal before the end of the season?

Would be great to have a buzz around the last home game with new Adidas kit unveiled or even available on the day.

The Villa site? No it doesn't it's still using the Lerner badge, as does the Betano announcement on there. It looks like someone fucked up and gave Betano the wrong graphic and they were supposed to be using the Lerner badge to me.

The new badge getting revealed on the sponsor's site before the club has revealed it is particularly amateurish.

Someone is going to get a bollocking for that.

Where is the new badge ?
It will impact the purchasing of existing Villa merchandise as the crest of a round badge is being extinguished isn't it ?

Betano are the shirt sponsors of Porto and the sleeve sponsors of Benfica. They also sponsor Sporting Lisbon
The gambling industry have 4 shirt sponsorships in the Champions League. Braga, Porto, Celtic and Antwerp.
And 4 Sleeve Sponsorships Red Star Belgrade, Feyenoord, PSV and Benfica.

Last season Gambling industry sponsored the most teams in the champions league.
This season the airline industry sponsors the most teams in the champions league.

Betting sponsors seem to be banned in quite a few European countries already, doesn't seem a very lucrative deal where they're concerned when it comes to European competition exposure. We've had blank/Acorns when playing in Poland, France*, and I think Greece is the same. Italy and Spain also have a ban.

*can't find any proof it's banned in France, assuming it is because we had Acorns last week

but premier league games are broadcast live everywhere (nearly) so even if the shirts have to be different in Europe it's still a huge amount of exposure.

Oh, I know it's still big exposure, but a lot of these deals you read about having extra money if you get Champions League, or the amount being reduced if you go two seasons without CL, but there's no real incentive there for a betting company, in that respect.

Talking of a big exposure, I think Playboy would be a good sponsor.

Maybe Razzle.
