He did - once he scored, he even removed the turf from the bottom of his boot and glared at the penalty-spot á la Beckham after he skied it in some Euros/World Cup knock-out game.

So I'm still not sure if Ollie can trusted at penalties as he probably wasn't aiming for where the ball ended-up!

Regarding the game, we didn't play well at all but they did. They were up for it, their crowd were definatley up for it and we're going to have even tougher games than that if we finish 4th. When we were losing, I sat there are thought, this will stand us in good stead for next season but like all decent teams who have an off day, we kept going and got
something. Feels great don't it?

I think people are confusing being calm with appearing to 'not be up for it'. Emery has convinced the players to be a particular way and it works. We've seen it time and time again.

I think the one time recently we really needed a gee-up was Spurs, and McGinn lost the control that comes with calmness.

Once Ollie scored and made it 2-0 I was supremely confident we would see it through

Bailey left it to chance. He'd decided where it was going, and put it where the keeper can save it. Ollie however stuck it where the keeper couldn't get it. Others watched the keeper to see where he was going.

For some odd reason as the penalty shoot out started, instead of being a bag of nerves (like most around me in the stadium) I was strangely calm and almost knew we would. Knackered today though, having a day wandering in the old town of Lille before getting the Eurostar in the early evening.

The first leg ref was as shit too.

The one in the first leg at Ajax was up there with the worst as well.

Listening to people on phone-ins going on about using foreign refs to sort out VAR. Clearly, none of them have actually seen a foreign ref at work.

CL refs are excellent, we are playing in the third tier and it looks like third tier refs.
