Maupay to start with the sole intention of getting Luiz his yellow card.

Martinez

Konsa
Carlos
Torres
Digne

Bailey
Dougie
McGinn
JJ

Tielemans
Watkins

There's no way Ramsey will be playing.

If not, then Rogers.

Rogers deserves to keep his place, I thought he was our best player tonight.

Need to win, and ideally handily.

Sir John back and he owes us, and his team mates, big time. Regulation 2-0 win after a worrying first 30 mins....

The manager's selection at Stockport (looks like the bug was confined to the keeper) will inevitably put pressure on him but I think he thrives on that, and of course will stand or fall by his decisions.
Brentford Nylons have turned into a battling side so the return of SJM is most timely. It was always going to be a big game, the last one was more or less a hiding to nothing so that's not really changed, even a draw up north would still have us all branding this a "must win". It's still not the end of the world if we don't win. But we should and we will.

3-0

I expect a much stronger test.

Mcginns back which is huge and im sure pau youri and bailey will be starting this. We shouldn't be hearing any excuses about tiredness after they were rested last night

Let's hope Ollie's back. He makes such a difference to us defensively as well, as it keeps the opponents' line just that bit more hesitant to step up, and he presses so well.

If he is back (and Martinez!) I suspect the team is:

Martinez; Konsa, Carlos, Pau, Digne; Bailey, McGinn, Luiz, Tielemans; Diaby, Watkins.
If Watkins is back, I like this team, although an argument for Rogers instead of Diaby perhaps.

4-1, Watkins (2), Bailey, McGinn to open proceedings up.

You always say that, don't ask for much Paul!

I'd happily take a 1-0. It's my first VP game since Arsenal in December and a long trip up from the south coast so they'd better win.

The form of Rogers is why I'm relaxed on Ramsey.  Big guns to come back and we need to win and win well.  3-0 Villa.

The weather forecast for Saturday afternoon is pretty rotten, rain and winds of over 45mph. Don't know whose style of play that should suit the more, as a short passing game and keeping the ball on the ground should be the best method to employ in such conditions but one never knows.

Citeh had a reaction to the Arsenal game and I expect us to do the same. We need to show some character.
