I think there were rumoured off-field problems, mental health, maybe. Shame, not the greatest player of all time but probably good enough to make a pretty decent living at Championship level.

I have vague memories of us playing Fabian Delph and Chris Herd together at centre-half against Bolton. I don't think it was tremendously successful.

Could you possibly be remembering Warnock and Herd playing in central midfield against Bolton in Big Eck’s last game?

I'm thinking Houllier. And I think McLeish's last game was at Norwich. Will Google.

It was when we had a million injuries under Houllier. Dunne and Collins were either out or had knocked each other out at that spa "bonding" session.

Think it was Delph at LB and Herd as CB and we lost to Bolton away, two goals came from corners and think Gary Cahill scored to rub it in a bit more at the time.

Herd was better as a DM but him playing showed how quickly the central midfield had declined from what we had under O'Neill.

Real shame. Yeah he easily could have been a Championship player.

Well, this is the game I'm thinking of. But we played Clark and Baker together so no idea where I got Herd and Delph from.

Mings Buendia and Ramsey are like 3 new signings assuming the former 2 hit their previous levels. All were integral in getting us from 15th to 7th in half a season.
Surely they would be more like new signings if they didn't hit their previous levels?

Although we havent had the best window the only aaving grace is the other top sides havent either.

Only manure chelsea and spurs appear to have.

I think west ham have done the best business this summer

You always have extra time to finalise the paperwork if the preliminary agreement is made before the deadline.

Honestly, you’d whine at the sky being blue. It’s always been allowed. You need to get a certain amount of paper work done by the deadline (a deal sheet) then you get a couple of course to sort the i’s and dot the t’s.

What on earth are you on about? I asked a question. All you had to do was answer the question (if you wanted to to) not add the first sentence. Not sure why you felt the need to moan about moaning 😂

Thanks for answering the question regardless as i didnt know that
