Spuds spend £31.5m on Burnley's Odobert ... who??!!

Good player but not sure he’s worth that yet

I don't mind Diego, he's fine when he has pace alongside him. Not so good alongside Longlegs. If we had to play Haaland again tomorrow, I'd be starting Diego. There's an argument to play him against Antonio, too. Then don't have him anywhere near the team next week against all Arsenal's tricksy little fast players.

He played in both last season’s clean sheet victories.

The problem with Carlos is his attention span. When he's on his game he's a worthy squad player, when he's not he's a liability. All to often he's the latter. His casual attitude is main contributor & he's too old to coach that out of him. He's also pretty poor in the air for a centre half.

Luiz had the same casual tendancy when he joined us but seemed to mostly remove it from his game.

Makes Philogene look like even better value.

A good article in The Torygraph by Matt Law regarding 'Monchi' and Villa's Transfer strategy

North London club. Decent in the sixties, apparently.

So now Felix is going to Chelsea (and this on loan somewhere else next summer!) who do we reckon we might go for as a 10?

Felix was never coming here. There are a number of reasons why that is the case (wages, club status compared to the likes of Chelsea, transfer fee) and Monchi and the team will have been working on realistic targets. A section of our fan base kept bringing Felix up for some reason but I'm pretty sure the club won't have been considering him as viable option.

We would benefit from an attacker to replace the one that we've sold, and the only possible option we could sign is the bloke that happened to play for us a few years back? Nobody else is a possibility?

Of course there is scope for others

I was referring to players we have been linked with
