Was that Turkish lad in their squad for the Euros, if so did he play much? Can’t say I’ve heard of him.

Moussa Diaby to Al Ittihad, here we go! Deal verbally agreed with Aston Villa for €60m package, add-ons included.

Diaby has agreed on five year deal and now waiting for paperworks to review then sign.

I wish he had wanted to come on this journey with us. But when one door shuts, another door open

PS I would leave the villa for €23m per year for 5 years, tax-free, plus bonuses.

What price freedom though. There is not enough money in the world to make me be unable to practice my faith. I can certainly see why Diaby wants to go though.

"The news about the swap deal between Jacob Ramsey and Giovani Lo Celso is NOT true

Speaking on Playback, he said: “What I can tell is, this story of Tottenham making a bid to Aston Villa for Ramsey, including a player, Gio Lo Celso, and money, is a bid they made, yes.

“But, it was weeks ago, not this week and not even last week. It was weeks ago. Aston Villa immediately said no.

Good news ... it's like a new signing

Relieved. I can see why we sold Luiz, but Ramsey needs to stay.

He came on as a sub in the 89th minute of the Netherlands game. But he only made his debut for them in June.

Looks like Joao Felix is going to Benfica. Benfica president Rui Costa has just announced that they are selling Joao Neves to PSG and Felix and Renato Sanches will be joining Benfica.

That's that one ruled out then. I'm not convinced Raphinha is a great option at all.

Agree Oz. I've always liked him but I'd worry where his head would be now, having a good/great season at Barca and being kicked out. Anywhere else will feel like a step down.

Perhaps we’ll try again for Torres.

Semih doesn’t look 18 does he.  Mind you my Turkish friend doesn’t know how old he is as birth certificates were not issued in Turkey when he was born!

I feared Torres could be the one we go for. Not convinced by that one either. Sooner have the turkisk lad and Eze.

Is Torres good enough?

You could just do what everybody else who plays there does, ie live in the UAE and commute in twice a week.

Im slightly nervous about how much change there been - and not convinced our starting 11 is any stronger.  Much better depth - which is key.

Our Best 11 last year was title challenging, If we can maintain that standard and then reduce the drop off when players are tired/injured/etc then we should, at least, be able to maintain a top 4 challenge and do a decent job in the Champions League which would be a very successful season for us even if, on paper, it doesn't look like we've progressed much. 2 CL qualifications in a row is when you can start to really push your status as an elite club.

Posted on the Villa's twitter.

I went for a new Martinez contract. It doesn't make sense if it's to officially announce Onana...does it?
