Philogene is the one player who actually wanted to leave, isn't he?

Said it in the post-match thread, but agree on checking out Tiago Santos, the Lille RB. I was very impressed with him.

Was good when he actually stayed on his feet….

Liked both centre halves & the #7 in the first leg

I think from his subsequent interviews, it was more about going to where he could play the most. He was open about having to put his career first and make the right decision for himself.

Can’t blame him, he’s got his head screwed on.

Was it not him that basically said Gerrard made him hate the place, or maybe not quite as extreme as that, but it sounded like he just didn't have a good time here and wanted away.

It was everyone at the club that said that. And that watched us.

We were linked with david wasnt we ? What did everyone think? Konsa did well on him but certainly looked better than Brobbey did.

I think the best striker we have come up against so far in this competition is pavlidis from AZ. He was a handful

Over the 2 legs david looked pretty shit to me, barely involved for a team with that many chances

I'd rather we persevere with Duran than make any unnecessary striker signings this summer

Im not sure i agree with that tbh mate. If ollie gets a big injury can we really tryst duran to hold the front line in CL? I think we do need another striker in. I like pavlidis he looks different to ollie wont cost too much and looks a real handful

I think Duran has come on a bit this season, the last few months specifically. He seems to be a bit better at passing it when he's anywhere in sight of goal rather than just hammering a shot himself. Maybe he's gone a bit too much the other way on that, but I think it still shows some growth. I mentioned it before that Duran and Diaby had the same problem, poor decision making near goal, but for opposite reasons. A good run in now and a full preseason could have him ready to go for real next season.

I thought Duran and Bailey turned the game for Villa when they came on.  Duran is a proper nuisance and upsets defenders.
