I’m all in favour of buying a better CB than Carlos, but the fact remains that the combination of him and Pau, with Konsa at right back, was more successful in stopping teams scoring against us than Konsa and Pau, with Cash at right back.
The problem as I see it, is Cash being the only alternative to Konsa at RB.

Cash is okay there against weaker opposition.

Konsa should always play there against top teams IMO. He just shuts down that side of the pitch against the best wide players. I can’t think of a player I’d rather have there against the likes of Vini Junior etc in the CL. A better player than Carlos to partner Pau is the top priority for me.

Depends what you want from the full back though in the system you play

If you want full back that’s really good defensively one on ones, blocking, heading, keeping a position then Konsa  is your man

If you’re looking for a full back to go over the halfway line, to attack the opposition to get Crosses in to have a bit of technical ability with the ball and to make those through balls to midfield rather than nine times out of 10 knock it sideways or back to the goalkeeper, Konsa is not your man

I can see both sides, and it all comes down to what Unai Emery wants out of his full backs really

Pics posted of Felix arriving at BHX on X . If you ignore the blazing sunshine and vehicles in the background with Spanish number plates it looks legit .

The plane that João Félix took Today from Madrid went to Ibiza. Rave on! Monchi is close by as is my mate George from Nightmares on Wax. Maybe he's going to sleeping giants, Leeds Rhinos.

Isn't Monchi in the US with the rest of them?

I've no idea. According to thetrees he has a pad in Mallorca and Vidagany has one in Ibiza. I do love a good transfer plane spotting rumour. Let the summer silly season begin!

Fabrizio Romano is saying that Al Hilal are taking a look at our favourite sulky striker;

Would be very funny if he ended up out there.

West Ham fans are saying the deal is done £36m plus add-on.

If they are right, I am happy with that take the money and move on.

Not sure why we would go backwards regarding the fee.

Not unless West Ham fans are attempting to save face again, like some of them are by claiming that their failed bid for Mazraoui (sp?) was in fact a genius ploy to get ManU to lower the fee for Wan Bissaka, & not in fact a failed bid where they did all the donkey work only for ManU to swoop in late & steal the transfer from under West Hams noses...

I was seeing stories yesterday that Duran had said he had turned down a Saudi move because he wants to join West Ham.

On the right back front, there's stories that we're close to agreeing a free transfer deal for Sergi Roberto from Barcelona.

For either of those roles Cash is not your man either.

Seems to be how they operate.

With 9 subs I want both options covered on both sides of the pitch within the match day squad.  The ultimate flexible ability to set up to be solid or to set up to go for it & having the personnel to do it

I like how after nearly binning Ten Haag, Man Utd are now leaning further into getting his band back together with another ex-Ajax player.
