True
and for what it’s worth that Felix fella won’t do us any harm in the best looking squad department if we sign him

Buendia is nowhere to be seen so far.

Are we taking our time, or is it a contract stalemate, as he is in his last year?
Would you play a guy in his last year when we are stacked in his position?
Should we sell him if he does not sign, and how much would we get when he has been out for a year? (£15m?)

Didn't Emi sign a five year deal?

I think we'll sell next summer but no harm in keeping him around given Zaniolo was starting a fair bit up to December last season and he was Buendia's direct replacement.

We can ease Buendia in this season and hopefully by November he's got his fitness up and then he can be a really good option off the bench with 20 minutes left and also for December/January when we're seemingly playing about 40 games in 10 weeks so he will get starts in that period.

We’ve still got three left backs which I’m sure we won’t have come the start of the season. After Digne’s performances last season it would be a shame to see him go and with Ramsey getting back to speed I’d love to see him and Moreno play together again.

I can’t see who’s staying or who’s being sold.

Whereas Man Utd have further added to their ugs and orcs with that lad from Lille.

Let the market decide.  You’d think we’d get a decent offer for one of them.

Given that Iling-Junior played left wing-back for Juventus, it wouldn't completely shock me if Emery used him that way for us as an understudy to Maatsen and sold both Digne and Moreno.

Can’t imagine Buendia would play as an 8.

They're just shirt numbers Paul.

That denote positions/roles on the pitch.

I've edited it so it doesn't confuse you, Mr Logic.
Biggest mistake which you failed to pick up on was Percy missing out Dobbin.

How right you are. My mistake.

The bigger problem with trying to give players shirt numbers/positions right now is the amount of players who can play in a few different spots. Using 442 numbering then Mcginn, for example, has played 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11 over the last 18months (and has had part games at LB and ST as well - https://www.whoscored.com/Players/318449/Show/John-McGinn), so what position do you put him down as?

Back in the days when it was just 1-11 for your starting line-up, and shirt number did indicate position, John Gregory wore all 10 outfield numbers for us.

Although one of them was something daft like wearing 8 and playing right-back so he could get the set. Our manager at the time had a right sense of humour.

It was the general rule as everybody was playing 4-4-2 or 4-2-4 although there were exceptions, Leighton Phillips would wear 6 and play centre half, full back John Robson an 8 at times are the two that come to mind.

John Robson also wore 9, after he converted to a midfield player. It was a shame he had to retire so early, as he had really become a fine player in midfield.
