According to BBC Gossip, we are linked with Mikel Merino.

Arsenal are favourites to beat Aston Villa in the race to sign Real Sociedad and Spain midfielder Mikel Merino, 28, this summer. (Mundo Deportivo via Goal)

Looked OK playing for Spain at the Euros, nothing spectacular, he spent a year at Newcastle, no i don't remember him either.
Probably nothing in it.

We were linked with him last summer too, he's a cracking player. Not sure how true it is given we're signing Onana though.

Yeah, it feels like we're on the verge of having too many central midfielders already let alone adding more.

He'd cost a lot and he's 28 as well, you feel that kind of deal would only happen if he was the crucial missing piece in an area we're short.

The Boss did like to play with 4 centre mids in the box midfield quite few times last season.

We were linked with another Real Sociedad player earlier this summer -  Brais Méndez. When Emery was asked, he said that we haven't shown an interest in any of their players since he became manager. I don't think we're interested in Merino.

I am sure that I read somewhere that he went as far as naming Merino too, as in, we have no interest in Merino.

It's probably Arsenal-biased press trying to make them look better by pretending they've beaten us for a change?

That photo never ceased to amaze me. I love the bloke in the top left who has the reddest face known to man

It's the fella in the middle with the middle fingers proudly showing that does it for me.

I think Rudy said on here at the time, he was "an accountant letting off steam from work, being as rebellious as he could think of" or something similar which tickled me.

A centre back very much on the cards provided we move Carlos out

Unai would love to upgrade Cash also

Other than that, after Onana is done we will very much look for 1-2 forward types (with duran going also) A forward who can play with Ollie and also centrally by himself if needed

Weve been linked to Biere (ive not heard it mentioned directly) but his type is very much what we are after

All in all, expect another 2 big signings

All very logical. Replace Cash, Carlos and Duran if we can find suitable erm… suitors, and that’s about it.

Celtic are on the verge of signing Viljami Sinisalo from Aston Villa on a permanent deal.
