I wondered the same, but I don't think anyone here knows for sure. There's been lots of speculation about the terms of the deal with Hull.

From what I've read, we do. Although tbf they're pretty standard, especially if you're going to let someone go for less than market value.

This is an interesting situation, we clearly rate him or else we'd stay out of the picture, and from the players perspective there are good offers on the table but none are going to be playing anywhere near the level we'll be playing at next year.

Surely we’d only match bids, if we’d had a chat with Jaden and he’s said he wants to come back. It’s not like we haven’t got his number

"New phone....who dis ?"

If he comes back - how many games will he start or will he just be a substitute - If i was him i would go to Ipswich where he will regularly play.

Yeah but it could all be a bit 'Cameron Archer' where he hardly gets the ball as they're funeralled back to where they came from by Christmas.

Are Ipswich the new Sheff Utd? Archer wasted a season there, for the type of player he is I would have thought a team that at least every now and then plays on the front foot would be what he needs.

EDIT: I see LeeB beat me to it. Great minds etc

A sell on clause would be great, if we buy him we get money back from that clause. Sort it out Monchi!

Of the other options on the table if I were him I'd pick Everton, yes it's Dyceball but he likes a winger, they won't go down (ever) and he'd get decent exposure at a big club.

I reckon we've just bid to start a bidding war for our buy back clause. Or we intend to sell him on again next year and this is another FFP scam.

Romano

🚨🟣🔵 Aston Villa have activated the matching rights clause for Jaden Philogene after Ipswich Town bid.

If Hull City receive higher bids from elsewhere, Aston Villa must decide whether to stay in the process.

↪️ Ipswich Town keep insisting, same for Crystal Palace and Everton.

He might not want to come back. He left to get regular minutes elsewhere, there's no guarantee that that will be the case next season if he comes back to B6 6HE.

Does the attraction of playing on a squad rotation system with possible Chumps League football outweigh playing every week elsewhere?

Get him back in, give him a ball and a yard of grass. See what he can do.

I reckon we've just bid to start a bidding war for our buy back clause. Or we intend to sell him on again next year and this is another FFP scam.

If he signed a 5-year contract, we would only start making profit on anything above £14.4m i.e. sell him on again for £18m and it's only £3.6m profit.

It would have to be a hefty fee for it to be worthwhile as an FFP exercise and if he's worth that in a year's time, we probably wouldn't want to sell him.

Does he play both left and right wing ??
