Barkley - I don’t think we have any space for that sort of player.

He is not a DCM so it only makes sense if we sell someone for big bucks, buy a DCM with the cash, then sign Barkley as another versatile CM.

Id be really surprised if we had spent so much money on getting in Monchi and then signed obvious and overpriced English players like Gallagher

I'd be surprised if we spend anything like the sort of money they'd want for him on anyone, given our PSR position.

We are in the Champions League, we have that to offer players, its a golden opportunity for players in lesser clubs who's career's are just about to happen but the present club is holding them back, Rice springs to mind last summer to Arsenal, we need to go for the best we can if we want to seriously contend and qualify again next season, I would give some attention to Brighton, selling club, and I would look at Jarrod Bowen who is already being linked with Chelsea.

You don't think we'll buy anyone in the 40-50m category? I think we will, just one, but it wont be Gallagher.

I wouldn't be against Ross Barkley on a free. I'd back Emery to get the best out of any player eventually.

Please, please, no! Return to Everton about his level.

Is anyone actually saying we should spend 50 million on Gallagher? Aren't most discussing it as a swap for Duran and we both diddle our books a bit?
They'd never go for it, I'm sure, but as a swapsie, it might not be bad for us.

No to Gallagher but yes to Barkley? I know people don't rate Gallagher but I wasn't expecting that. Barkley is going to have to do what he did last season again for me to have any confidence in him and also, he should stand out at Luton, shouldn't he? It would have been shit if he didn't.

I wonder if Emery will try for Morgan Gibbs-White? He mentioned him a few times in a press confernece before we played them at home.

Hopefully, yes to MGW. Anything to piss-off the Dogheads! Even better if we could get Pedro Neto!

If we are getting anyone out of there I think Joao Gomes would be a great signing. Ait Nouri would be a very good addition too. Neto and MGW are fine players but we are well stacked in those positions already.

Re Gallagher: I'm not a massive fan of the player himself. Seems more nuisance value than owt else.

But the last Chelsea captain & midfielder we signed did OK for us. Just the two trophies. So there is that...

Whereas before we might have had to entice players to come to us by offering higher wages and large transfer fees, we should not fall into that trap again. That’s for clubs like Man U and spurs.

Like Emery says, we need to be smart. I certainly wouldn’t be valuing Gallagher as much more than Duran, but if the latter is a nuisance and Emery wants him out, so be it.

Aston Villa are launching a bid for Rapid Bucharest striker Albion Rrahmani.
iAMsport reports Benfica are also keen and willing to offer for €8m for the 23 year-old.
However, Villa are prepared to outbid Benfica by offering €11m for the striker.

Kosovo international Rrahmani has scored 14 goals in 16 games for Rapid this season.
