For those who haven’t seen it on X. Be careful, it’s absolute filth:

Do goal kicks not have to clear the area anymore? Seems Lenglet (or Torres) took it to Martinez at the start of the build up.

No.

Oli's flick header against Bournemouth should be in there too.

Our goal against Arsenal is one of the goals of the season - like a sped-up, more skilful/technical version of Doug's second against Forest but against far superior opponents. But it never got a look-in for Goal of the Month.

As it stands I'd have those 2 and the watkins one against Sheff Utd (with the Dougie assist) as our 3 best this season.

I'm trying to think of howitzers and thundercunts we've scored this season. Duran against Palace and Tielemans at Bramall Lane come to mind (did Diaby score a belter at some stage?) but generally speaking, our goals are the result of controlled play.

I remember marvelling at the build-up for Cash's first at Turf Moor early on in the season, it gave me a really good feeling about 2023/24. After that goal, I remember saying to my Dad, a Gooner, "This is how you've watched Arsenal score goals for years. Now it's my f-ing time!"

A change in 2019 apparently. Never spotted it before.

This rule-change must have had an impact on how everyone now plays out from the back. The new way of playing really came to the fore behind closed-doors in 2020/21, giving time for it to bed-in with defenders not having to face the audible wrath of fans shouting at them too boot it down the park.

Every player receiving, being in control and passing the ball. I'll bet there aren't many teams to have done similar this season.

Brilliant! Wonder why they didn't show that on MOTD???

Tielemans didn't touch it.

Watkins plays it to him, doesn't he?

Yep, he didn't half.

Also love that Doug's first touch of the ball in this move was on the edge of our own box. His second was to twat it into the bottom corner.

I thought it was a cracking goal when seeing it live but didn't realise all eleven had touched the ball. It would definitely get a bit more fanfare if it was Man City or Liverpool. But we know and that's all that really matters.

You're right. You'd think after watching it at least ten times I'd have noticed. Now I'm starting to question myself and whether Tielemans wasn't as invisible for most of the match as I first thought. He did have a good final 5 minutes before being subbed but I don't recall him doing much else (again) before it.

I thought he just kept things ticking along ver, quietly effective I’d say, without the umph of McGinn, or floating brilliance of Dougie

Yep. Quietly effective. It's the same all our midfielders, when they're not being explosive* they're still pulling their weight and simply going about their business.
*He was pretty explosive for Bailey's goal, following Watkins' lead in the press.

Two things I really love about that goal. When Bailey receives the ball with his back to the touchline he has an easy option. A short pass to Tielemans but he ignores that and chops another much more difficult pass to Cash which opens Forest right up. The second thing I love is Dougie's involvement. He touches the ball twice. The first touch is when he receives the ball on the edge of our 18 yard box. His second touch is inside their 18 yard box when he drills the ball into the corner of the net. Two sublime moments of football.
