I think people might be mixing the terms wi-fi and mobile data.

Not me. I turn Wi-Fi off when I go anywhere there is a Wi-Fi network as it’s usually shit. It’s useless on the bus, at work and in Asda. So much better using mobile data.

It’s good in the barbers on Wellington Road Perry Barr though if anyone else goes in there.

Indeed. Comments like it's ok on EE but not another network is not a wi-fi issue.

Even if I switch Wi-Fi off and go on 4G, still zilch. I don’t want to use it during the match but, before the match and at half time to catch up with the match thread etc. Maybe my mobile is not new enough model.

Considering we allegedly have so many thousands on the waiting list, not that many seem bothered to actually come to a match. The last 2 home matches my brother has not been able to attend so, has given ticket back to Villa to sell. Surprise, surprise, no takers. Would love to know why we seem to be the only club that no longer give out our attendances.
Another whinge, can anyone else get onto the Villa match day Wi-Fi? I certainly can’t, it’s not fit for purpose.

My Mrs couldn't make either of the last 2 games & sold her ticket back both times. Her ticket went within minutes on Friday. When I checked on Saturday morning there were 3 or 4 individual seats available in the the whole ground.

You'll probably find every game in the PL has individual seats that don't get sold. How do you know we're the only ground that doesn't give the attendance?

Other than at the start of halftime, when everyone tries to connect, I have no problem connecting to the Vodafone network.

I'm always disappointed when I can't watch my tractor porn where I want.

Why would anyone want to be on their phones when they could listen to our PA system?

It's going back a few years now, but every time we play at VP I want nothing more than to watch Conan the Barbarian when I get home.

My connection fails about 15 mins before KO but by then I'm not too fussed and as I've said before, I take my seat at the last possible minute to avoid the cacophony of noise.

I'm usually able to get on mine although just before kick off is sometimes a problem.

Might be, especially with 5G being the thing now. I remember when 4G was being rolled out and "tested" in Birmingham City Centre by EE, getting a 3G signal was suddenly awful. I suspect they diverted bandwidth from one to the other to enable the big speeds they were bragging about (and also to make people go "I need a new phone on 4G".

But it could also be your supplier. As mentioned EE are the network partners at Villa so they might have added more capacity, both wifi and Mobile aerials where others do not have them so close.

I struggle to get a signal but the 20 year old next to me has no problem - he kept me updated on Man U. It's either me or my phone.

You’re not going to get any ‘WiFi’ coverage unless you have access to one of the club’s networks, which you almost certainly won’t.

Mobile data coverage is not a problem the club can fix alone, it is for the mobile networks. An infrastructure (masts, basically) that handles the normal usage of the locals of Aston  fine all of a sudden finds itself handling the normal load plus an extra 45,000 people (crowd / workforce / transport people etc etc) via a limited number of masts in a tiny, highly concentrated area. The result is the network is swamped and you’ll find it way harder to get signal - voice or data.

There isn’t any incentive for Villa to provide free WiFi and even if they did, unless it was a hugely powered infrastructure it’d struggle in any case, and there isn’t really any incentive for the phone companies to address a highly localised problem that only exists for about 80 hours a year.

You do have access to one of the clubs networks it’s called AVFC Matchday and appears if you go into your WiFi settings. I’ve been using it for over 2 years now.

When I was on 3 I could never get any sort of signal at the ground. Now I'm with EE it's much better.

Can you take a megaphone with you and every sixty seconds loudly announce the scores in the other matches?

Job done.
