Jesus Christ, this guy is an absolute disaster waiting to happen.

Decent shot stopper one minute, simple error for fuck all reason the next.

There are League 1 standard keepers (Jamie Young for example) playing in the A'League who are better all round keepers than this kid...

I know nothing about the guy but two Aussie mates replied "he is very good" and "rate him, big prospect".

Wasn't Vienna Rigsby's cat? Oh, and Joe Gauchi looks like Joe Lycett to me.
Yep! Dead now, of course.  :(

Joe Lycett is dead?
He's dead to me, the unfunny twatspangle

What if he was Villa?

He still wouldn’t be funny.

If that is their take on him, then fair enough.

I don't agree with them though...

But:

He can't be any worse than Olsen.
He's only young with potential to improve
Even if the Aussie league is crap, he still had a fair bit of experience
He isn't coming to replace Emi, well not for ages anyway
If he is crap, presumably he's only cost a set of corner flags and an Amazon gift card

All fair points.

But I still don't rate him & I don't want us to sign him.

And that is the last I will say on the matter.

Had enough bullshit in the Jan window thread.

Why are you getting so moinumentally pissed off and precious about this?

People expressed surprise you watch the Australian league. I replied about that, but my tone was "who the fuck actually goes out of their way to watch such a pointless league"

You've been banging on like a wronged teenager since then. I'd hate to see what you're like over things that aren't so utterly inconsequential.

Tell you what i'm pissed off about. The spelling of his name, it's Gauci, not Gauchi.

Disgrace.

Life is a lot less stressful once you realise there's no point getting pissed off over things that you have no control over.

he's a 23 year old goalkeeper and as I pointed out Martinez was fucking about at Rotherham at that age. I don't see any reason to get fired up over a young keeper who has actually played for his country already. And even if this doesn't work out, it's hardly the end of the world.

I wasn't talking about you.

You asked a direct question & I answered it. I quoted you specifically.

There were other comments yesterday that I was surprised about & didn't like their tone though.

I still don't today.

But I haven't been "banging on about it".

I have responded to direct quotes.

Am I "banging on about it" with this direct response to you?

I merely mentioned that I didn't want to bring yesterday's bullshit into this thread as well.

Pen kept slipping out his hands, but then it's hard to sign things upside down.

That isn't what bothered me.

You made reasonable points. As did Risso.

I gave my opinion on the player, said I didn't want us to sign him but hoped to be wrong if we did, & others had snidy little comments to make because they cannot fathom someone who is awake at the times the A'League is on & enjoys watching football that has no direct connection or influence over Villa, finding a little fun in that.

The whole thing is fucking bizarre to me that others made such a meal out of it & I am the one taking flack for having the audacity to defend myself.
