Rapidly becoming a ******

It’s just standard new joiner stuff. Each to their own, but don’t see much in that.

Also Villa’s statement says a lot - suspect he didn’t push for it.

I'm disappointed he's gone and really don't understand why he went there specifically but the profit make sit far less upsetting. If the £80m to arse bullshit had gone ahead I'd be far more pissed off.

Can't wish him well though because fuck Chelsea, they're just Millwall with a lottery win.

I don’t see the issue with what he said. Same goes for Tielemans. It’s not for us. It’s scripted shit for their new fan base. He’s gone from an £8M Championship player to one that in 18 months or so is £117M. So as shit as it is we couldn’t keep him, he’s got us the better part of $100M in profit. Helps us rebuild and solve (for now) SCR. I won’t wish him good luck but I will thank him for playing to a level that got us the money we did.

He scored a goal in our biggest triumph for a generation. I won’t hate him or boo him. I’m more disappointed in him, to be honest. He could have done better than go there.

I’d be pissed off with him wherever he went, maybe less so if it was abroad, but I’m happy with the money. And I prefer that he’s gone to Chelsea over Arsenal.

Spare a thought for our various bitter local so-called rivals though, who keep getting excited that we’re about to be fucked by the financial rules, only to see us pick up free transfers and unknowns and sell them in no time for more profit than about ten years of their turnover.

📲 Morgan Rogers on Instagram:

“Villans, where do I start? I’m just a Birmingham kid who was able to represent the biggest team in the city, and that is a proud moment for me and something that will always live with me. Thank you for taking me in from day one, and allowing me to be me and allowing me to express myself.

To lift that trophy in Istanbul on that night with the team is something that will forever live with me, and I’m always grateful for the opportunities I was given here. It will always be one of the proudest moments of my career.

Thank you to my teammates, as it was a pleasure to come in everyday with the training room full of joy and laughter, which made it a great environment to work in, and a successful one as we pushed each other and fulfilled our potential as a team. I’m going to miss you all.

And finally, the fans. You’ve stuck by me through the good and the bad, and that means everything to me. Every time I went to Villa Park and put on that shirt, I gave everything, and it was replicated with how you supported me and helped me through all of the times. We enjoyed some special moments together. This isn’t a goodbye, it’s a see you soon. I love you all.” 💜

I still can’t understand why Chelsea of all clubs. He was good for us but left at the first opportunity so bollocks to him. Hopefully the recruitment we make from the sale will make us stronger.

Has Martin Rodgers played too many games for us to retire his shirt?

Bye.

Because it was the only club that paid what we wanted. He's doubled his salary, it's London, his buddies play there and  his entourage have probably laid out there are better opportunities in a football and commercial sense at Chelsea. That's probably why.

And that pretty much sums it up.
Really good player for us in one of the best periods in our history, but he’s gone, we move on.

I've no anger towards him. A bit sad he's gone and like others, I don't think Chelsea is the best move he could've made, although they seem to be sorting their shit out a bit.
He could've thanked Unai though.

Surprised he didn't mention Unai in his message. Without him, he could still be a Championship sub.
