Maybe the Arsenal fans I know in real life are the few normal ones, but they've greeted this news with the biggest shrug of the shoulders imaginable.

Why would they give a toss?
Maybe because for over a month now Arsenal fans have been telling Villa fans on Twitter that we're "going to accept £65m/£85m* and be grateful for it", as if a) they get to set the price, and b) they're paying for it out of their own pockets.

But why would any real person, Villa fan or Arsenal fan care about what a bunch of engagement-farming dicks on a weird child porn website are arguing about?
Generally I'd agree, but when your feed it literally being flooded with these it's difficult to ignore. I've mostly stopped engaging with the blue ticks because the majority are like you say, looking for a reaction/engagement.

The problem there isn’t the arsenal fans, its the fact you’re on twitter.

I used to use it for language learning and it was a nice vibe as well as very helpful but then along came Elon and ruined it, first with the algorithms then more recently with the autotranslate stuff (I've turned that feature off). Someone posted earlier about Billionaires monetising hatred and that person is exactly right. I'm still on there now, probably because despite the above, it's still better than Facebook.

Anyway, we probably ought to talk about Rogers.

Yeah, either don't bother at all or just treat it like Victorians going to watch a freakshow.

Life's too short to get angry about the freaks acting like freaks.

One of Morgan's new teammates will be Argentina's Enzo Fernandez......you know, the thug who got sent off for that shocking two-footed challenge on Spain's Cubarsi.

Said to the Arse fan at work that it would take over 100M to get Rogers abd he said we wouldn't get that much.

I said we got it for Grealish and that was about 5 years ago and there are supposedly lots of teams interested in Rogers. Think other than Chelsea and Arsenal, Bayern amd Real Madrid were linked at the time.

If a player could sum up a club it would be him. That tackle could have done some serious damage. It was a straight red imo. Didn’t he want away from Chelsea at the end of last season pushing for a move to Real Madrid? For now at least he’s Rogers’ new team mate so not our problem.

I honestly expect Fernandez to be sold to fund Rogers.

I don’t get it at all. They’re not even in Europe, and players just seem to disappear there.

Also wonder, … Middlesbrough fans thought they’d pulled our pants down at £8m + £7m addons. How much of Rogers’ game is down to Emery getting the most out of what’s there? He’ll of course take a bit of that with him, and I don’t think he’ll suddenly turn in to an awful player or anything. But there’s a few of our players who, even though I think they’re great for us, I wonder if they’d do half as much elsewhere. Matty Cash is one. I love him to bits. We suit him, he suits us, I think whenever his Villa career does come to an end he’ll cost a fair bit to replace … but I also think that outside of our system, he’d most likely be clogging round in a bottom half team.

Anyway, I wonder if Morgan Rogers is like that. For us, he’s a £120m player. But I kind of think in another team, another system, a less methodical manager who doesn’t tell every player exactly what they should be doing … I wonder if he’ll still be a £120m player or if he’ll look closer to a £20m player.

I’ll be pretty interested in what UE can do with Allyson if he ever gets fit.

Arriving at Chelsea for medical now on the yellow SSN ticker. I’m a bit sad but excited about the rebuild the fee facilitates.

The circumstances (timing, age, nationality, the position of the club) have to all fall into place to get a fee like that. If things were different we could easily be in Newcastle’s position re: Anderson - sold him for £38m(?) then have to watch him go for a British record. We just have to embrace it and make the most of what should be our new-found financial freedom.

If Alonso is as good as he was at Leverkusen, then with no Europe, and that squad, I expect a title push, so could be a great move for Rogers.

Palmer going back to Manchester (United) was the talk last spring with Rogers going to Chelsea.

Rogers has been an amazing signing by Emery. Was a top player for us and should develop a lot further. Will be very difficult to replace but the show goes on. Optics also very poor that we can't keep our best players from joining Chelsea of all places.

Thank f*ck we have CL football to look forward to, if we had this kind of upheaval last summer we would have been in serious trouble.
