The more I think about it, the more I think that if we are able to replace Rogers with Manzambi and a quality pacey winger, our team isn't significantly worse and our squad could be significantly better.

Or, at least that's what I did think before that quite devastating badge graphic from "martin o'who??"

Fingers crossed.

My worry is the bundesliga seems to create wunderkids where the hype doesn’t match the output. Wirtz and Havertz being recent examples.

I’d be grateful for some examples of successes to make me feel more confident

He's been very good in interviews while at Villa to say the right things, he's quite personable and clearly paid attention to all six modules on Dealing with the Media etc.

But last week at the World Cup he was asked about Ezri Konsa and said something like "I'm surprised he hasn't been linked with a bigger club, he can do everything". Dude, no. Just no, on both counts tbh.

The salary, the length of it, the financial guarantees and also the marketing and image income he will get from doing the “cold” celebration with his best mate, the dopey looking twat Palmer. Wait until that hits our screens.
Yeah you can see Worcester boilers, Everest Windows and Ready Brek getting involved in those nuggets. And action..."Brrrr"

Bit harsh about the Argentina game comment under the circumstances really.

Nah, he'd have held the ball up for Villa and drawn the odd foul.

Villa wouldn't have thrown three defenders on to protect a lead. Besides, how many times did Kane and Bellingham touch the ball in that second half? You seem to have forgotten who set the goal up as well.

Kane can't run so was fucked in the second half, Bellingham was battling centrally. I thought Rogers could have offered more, he has the strength and technique to get the ball in tight situations and fend fuckers off.

Yeah, he assisted for the goal. £117m worth of player, if that's his main contribution to the game, it's the least he can do.

You're not taking him leaving very well. It's quite amusing really.

I think this, too. We have been pretty make do and mend for the last couple of seasons, but we look like we may go into this season having solved some of our long term issues if the transfers go through.

Two left-backs, but without the huge wages.
Finally a proven back up to Cash.
A new young centre back to develop and provide competition.
A good back up to Martinez.
More youth in midfield.
A backup/alternative for Watkins.

Yes, we have lost high-end quality in Tielemans and Rogers, but we will have gained stability and resilience, which has been a big issue for us.

Arsenal had RESERVATIONS about Aston Villa's valuation of Morgan Rogers, particularly as Villa were unwilling to lower their asking price.💰❌

This is nothing new. Arsenal encountered the SAME stance during negotiations for Ollie Watkins, and they also admire Ezri Konsa. 👀

However, Aston Villa owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens have remained firm in their position. ✔️😤 #AFC #AVFC

Oh, that's a shame. We should really have lowered our asking price to help Arsenal. Very poor behaviour.

We should get a points deduction for not subsidising our competitors.

That tweet alone should mean an automatic extra £10m should they actually make an enquiry about Ezri rather than employ client journalists to start a story and see if it runs.  Twats.

Morgan Rogers. You were an unknown player in January 2024 when our magnificent club came calling for you. In two and half years you got to play for us in the premier league; You got to qualify for the champions league, twice, and you got to win a major trophy. You also became an England regular with a massive profile.

You had a five year deal with us as we strive to do truly elite level things. You could have led us to many trophies in the coming seasons cementing your place as a legend. Instead you have decided to trade these things for a scummy club built on Russian money who finished 10th last season. This makes you a massive twat.

Once again, the worst thing about this sport is the vacuous fools who play it.

I read that as if it was a love poem.
