Bit harsh about the Argentina game comment under the circumstances really.

Nah, he'd have held the ball up for Villa and drawn the odd foul.

Villa wouldn't have thrown three defenders on to protect a lead. Besides, how many times did Kane and Bellingham touch the ball in that second half? You seem to have forgotten who set the goal up as well.

I was worried we would end up haggling all summer before eventually agreeing a fee with Arsenal well after we played them and too late to spend serious cash, leaving us scrambling for some desperate Sancho type gamble on deadline day.

Very happy to have got a proper fee up front so early and to have lots of time to remodel the squad.

I reckon Alonso is very system based in the same way UE is, not the same system but wedded to a system all the same. Rogers will do well there, if he settles in before they sack Alonso.

Does he playb5 at the back?

3-4-3 isn’t he?

So long as it isn't one of their "shit seasons" where they finish mid-table but still win at least one cup. They seemed to do that about half a dozen times since Mourinho's first spell.

Mid-table and winning the League Cup would be ok.

Even so, I want to win trophies while we have a trophy winning standard team. That would give us a good chance of three in three years.

It's going to be difficult to replace his indestructibility.

He's gone for the money, pure & simple. Coupled with the perceived big 6 club bullshit. I don't think Unai would have let him go to Arsenal & it seems they've been sidelined by the speed of the deal.

He's commented that he sees himself playing for the likes of Barcelona or Real. So he probably sees Chelsea as a route to achieve that.

A good player, unplayable at times & utterly shite at others. We could argue all day about why he's gone & how good he is or could be. All that matters now is that we spend the money wisely & we are patient with any new arrivals.

The more I think about it, the more I think that if we are able to replace Rogers with Manzambi and a quality pacey winger, our team isn't significantly worse and our squad could be significantly better.

Or, at least that's what I did think before that quite devastating badge graphic from "martin o'who??"

The salary, the length of it, the financial guarantees and also the marketing and image income he will get from doing the “cold” celebration with his best mate, the dopey looking twat Palmer. Wait until that hits our screens.
