I think this may be the key point in all this;

So, I think it's definitely down to the offer. If someone Rogers likes comes in with a hefty enough offer, the deal will be done.

Honestly, I'm really content with our position here and any of the outcomes on the table will work for us.

If he stays - brilliant. Title challenge next year.

If he goes - with five years on his deal and the bidding war that may emerge, he's currently at his highest possible value and we'll bank upwards of 100m. This will fund the regeneration of the team from a position of strength, and it's what all good sides do. Liverpool with Coutinho springs to mind.
