Its a game we should be winning given their poor form and players missing

Who do you prefer Mowbray or Rowett?

Everton are at home and aside from a couple of recent slips they’ve done well. They are at home and won’t sit deep. They need points and will try to win. We will take advantage of their intent and win the game 3-1.

Watkins, SJM, Diaby

They won 4 in a row up to 16 Dec but then haven’t won since 1D 4L. I don’t think we should overplay their uptick in form pre Christmas.

I dislike Everton more than any other team in the PL. I’d love a 4-0 or better Villa win but I suspect they’ll do what they do best and spoil the game so I’m thinking 2-0. We need to find ways of defeating sides like this and I’m confident the UE has a plan to do it

Disliking Everton more than Man Utd or Newcastle is so eccentric that I just have to respect it.

We beat them 4-0 earlier in the season.

Given our recent difficulties breaking down deep, stubborn defences and getting turned by balls over the top, this match is basically our nightmare. I really hope we've got a plan.

That's the way I see it too, will be a slog like last season there. Buendia turned the game last season and we might need similar from the bench this time, might hold Bailey in reserve. Results are holding up in the main but Man City aside our performances have been a bit flat for a while now. Narrow one goal win will be perfect, get the first goal and their crowd will get very nervy. Lenglet has done ok but hope Torres is back as we will have a lot of the ball. I think Emery will bring Carlos back and drop Cash but I wouldn't.

Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Torres, Moreno, Kamara, Luiz, McGinn, Ramsey, Diaby, Watkins.

All good points. Its a lazy analogy on my part but Everton really are an identikit of Dyche’s Burnley in the way they play but also they do enough. They like Burnley used to get tonked and go on slippery runs, but are also capable of giving anyone a game with their agricultural style.

If we are to fall away as most non Villa probably expect, this is the exact sort of game we’ll lose. We are better than them though. I would probably go with your team, I much prefer Konsa at centre back, him and Torres are the best we have, but I have doubts about Cash now, I thought he was poor again last night.

Anyway, 2-1 us (Watkins, McGinn)
