Of course there are people who’ve been to every game for 30 years - but not enough to sellout every away allocation.
Quote from: Ads on January 23, 2024, 09:09:25 PMThat makes it inherently unfair to people that might have been going to every away game for 30 years, suddenly denying them a ticket to Bournemouth next time because the ballot swallows it.that's more of a Bournemouth issue for having a poxy tinpot ground/ away end. Many fans had been going to away games for 30 years just not EVERY SINGLE ONE !!! not everyone can do that and in no way should they be penalised and excluded as is the case currently

Until "The Bournemouth Element" kicks in!Luton allocation will probably be lower. It's fair until you don't get a ticket I suppose.Which is what this whole thread seems to be about!

It’s only the same self-interest on the other side of the coin. There aren’t easy answers, & 30% is far too big a ballot in the current circumstances. It would exclude too many who have made a lot of sacrifices to build perfect booking histories. Even those who have bought 19 and only personally attended 16, are still way ahead of me.Maybe making the criteria slightly lower, (e.g starting at 16, or even a little less) would actually still provide first dibs to the same people, because there is virtually no one between all & nothing….……but this could potentially have a spin off effect of reducing the number of people who feel they need to go to every away game because they wouldn’t lose their priority, and free up some tickets for the more casual, or new, away supporter again.…& Frank…it’s not about not being bothered to build up a booking history… we simply can’t. We might be able to get one on big cup allocations, but nothing thats going to get you to a league game, ever, on our own booking history under the current system. The last season in the championship I went to about 6-10 games as I had for years, and I haven’t had a look in since.

I know the system very well and how it works but I simply don't know how it can be "improved", and for who exactly? If we choose to include a certain group of fans then you do so by excluding others. The fact that the demand is there is great, but the supply just can't meet it.As a good mate said a few weeks ago, "All this was much easier when we were shit".

Where is the recognition for fans who went through years of stress following the team all over the place under the likes of O'Leary Lambert & McLeish. I agree with some of the points above , recognise loyalty but maybe a larger % goes to ballot so that more people get a realistic chance. Also maybe when someone has won a ballot maybe they then can't enter another ballot for 3 months for example. We are the ones in the closed shop mate, you know the ones that you want cut in half so that new fans can replace.... Finally Heck has revealed himself on this site.I think a fair system would be 70% based on booking history / 30% ballott .
