Their away kit is navy shorts with navy/blue shirts. Their 3rd kit is like a pale grey colour with black sleeves. Unless they're wearing that and our white shorts are deemed to clash, but wouldn't the away team have to change to accommodate that?

Edit - looking at their kits, they're probably a pretty good indication of what we'd get if we end the Castore deal and went with Nike.

Home team almost always makes the changes as in theory, they have all their kit options handy where the travelling team is limited. I think it is a ref's decision on the day on clashes like shorts / socks etc.

Makes sense if it's a last minute decision, but surely they'd look at their kits, look at ours, and say we'll wear the away one. Unless it's all mind games! 😄

I think UEFA are a bit picky about what classes as dark shorts and light shorts. There was no real reason for Villa to wear dark shorts with the third kit in Alkmaar but presume the usual ones were classed as "light" and would clash with their white shorts.

Alkmaar are wearing all grey tonight so Villa are being made to choose the "dark" option again. Not sure why they have made the home team change but who says UEFA need to do things that make sense?

We used to regularly wear our away kit at home in the UEGA Cup back in the 90s.

That was a rule back then, wasn't it? IIRC Uefa bought it in in the early to mid nineties, if kits clashed the home team changed.

Don't get why UEFA do back to back matches, the logical order for us would be Warsaw, Mostar and Alkmaar.
