Olsen must be why we lost to Newcastle, Liverpool and Legia too. The players could see him on the bench and just couldn't shake the lack of confidence.

Deary me, really? This reminds me of people getting overly upset when Wayne Routledge or Nigel Reo-Coker were criticised

I'm not "overly upset", I'm just incredibly bored of people using Olsen as a scapegoat for every bloody game we've lost. Someone even claimed the only reason we looked so comfortable and won easily against Alkmaar was because Emery finally realised he can't play Olsen. Like what a load of bull.

I know Martinez is a brilliant keeper. I know Olsen is far from it. I would love to sign an upgrade on him ASAP. I'd be happy if he's already played his last game for us. I just don't see the need to keep having a go at him when we've won games he's played in, and lost games Martinez played in.

He's been significantly at fault in each three cup defeats under Emery so far. He came on against Burnley at half time with us cruising and nearly gifted them a goal back with his first touch.

I think the answer is somewhere in between as it relates to Olsen. He’s not always at fault. The outfield players need to do their job. But when the outfield players are off a little we can’t have the keeper let us down when called upon. And we are not talking about making an extraordinary save to keep us in games. It’s the very basic things that ultimately lets us down and deflates the team even more. We should have beaten Man U or Stevenage before Olsen’s fuck up but it sure didn’t help that when called upon, he fucked up.

The Carabao cup is a weird one, I suspect most top flight teams think it's a bit pointless until they get to the QF and then it becomes a meaningful trophy.

i reckon we tried to sign a better keeper than Olsen, but couldn't make it happen. We're Splat out of Luck on that front.

This game is tougher than some may think.

Nottingham Forest have only lost 2 of their last 19 home games in the Premier League.

Since the start of last October, only Man City and Liverpool (one each) have fewer home Premier League defeats than Forest (2).

A tough nut to crack.

Sure.  Won't be straightforward but Forest don't appear to have found much going this season.

I can add recent form for only matches for this season and they haven't played anyone on our level.
4 games played at home won 1 against the worst team in the league.  3 games have been against promoted teams.
Sheffield United 2-1
Burnley 1-1
Brentford 1-1
Luton 2-2

Haven't watched them at all but results don't look like they've kicked on since last season. Their home record based on results above doesn't look too clever. Anything less than a win will be disappointing here.
