Team ok but don’t know what to make of having Carlos and Lenglet in though

Will struggle against quick forwards those two. Tielemans has really struggled in that Ramsey position previously so surprised Emery has gone with it again.

Big night for Bailey.

Has he? I thought most of the time when he was starting, he was further back in the Luiz / Kamara position. When he has been played further forward/ come on as sub, he normally has created chances.

Villa Foundation.
Think bettinvg sponsors aren't allowed in Euro competitions.

                  Emi
Cash Carlo  Lenglet   Digne
             Boubacar
Tielemans Luiz McGinn
   Bailey
                 Watkins

That's how I see them lining up. Apparently AZ attack with wingbacks, so it's vital that either Bailey puts a shift in covering back, or Tielemans and Kamara can protect that side.

If we had say Torres or Konsa at the back with Carlos instead of Lenglet, then I'm sure fans would be happy. Don't see why Lenglet is viewed so negatively. 15 caps and 105 games for Barca tell me he's no mug.

One of AZ's centrebacks is a converted defensive midfielder and Ibrahim - 23yr old 5'6" winger from Ghana makes his debut for them.

Looks like it's the formation where Bailey is wide right and Tielemans is pushed up behind Watkins.

Bit of a patient affair so far. Gentle poking in both directions… but nothing major either way yet
