Lenglet, Tielemans, Zaniolo, Bailey and Chambers all have experience of playing in Europe. I know some of the bench do too, but maybe not a bad idea to use the players who've been there before.

'In Europe'.

Was hoping the Donk would get a start, otherwise I'm digging all the changes.

I assume he just wants more physicality at the back this time.  They’re likely to be kickers I would’ve thought.

Sorry mate just teasing. It's not the '70s or '90s or what have you, so I'm really not sure what relevance to selection having played outside certain national borders has over having played against, say, Manchester City.

I thought it would be obvious I was referring to European competition, rather than the geographical location.

I know, and that's what I meant! Why is it different? Our manager's Basque, our team has French, Italian and many other nationalities in it, and they play regularly in an incredibly multinational league, in which most of the coaches are from outside the UK. I just don't see what the difference is, particularly.

Apart from, I think, Konsa, JJ and Marschall they've all played in European competition or full internationals. I doubt they'll be shitting themselves over a tifo and some pyro.

2 keepers on the bench, old habits die hard.

I watched the Goals show last night and was surprised by how many teams had 2 goalkeepers on the bench.

It's a UEFA requirement to have 2 keepers on the bench so every club does it whether it's CL, Europa or Conference.

You're right, it's probably not going to be *that* big of a difference. It's ultimately still kicking a ball around with and against other footballers.

But Tielemans having playing in Champions League knock-out matches, Bailey in a Europa League quarter final, Zaniolo playing in a European final - they're experiences that not all of our players have and therefore it's useful to have those experiences in the team.

I don't think his point is all that controversial, particularly assuming we end up at the business end of the competition.

Love deeply how the Legia formation explainer includes the goalkeeper.

And that they tell us what formation they're going to play.
