I was actually surprised his name was barely mentioned in the thread. He had some good pre-season games as well and now seems to have hidden.
Last night on Teletext, Villa beating Hibs and progressing was included in the 'News Main Headlines'. Bloody BBC and their anti-Villa 'agenda'.
I agree Paul, Tielemans needs to be doing a bit more as things stand.
Good to see some of our talented youngsters get a full 90 minutes but amongst the positives there were some concerns. Bailey was his usual largely ineffective, anonymous self and Kamara is one of the last people I want to see in possession of the football just in front of our back line when the opposition are pressing.
Quote from: Goldenballs on September 01, 2023, 07:20:57 AMGreat finish by Duran. I thought Tielemans was poor, and I don't care what anyone says, Olsen is not good enough to be our number 2. Dropped one in the first couple of mins but luckily Konsa cleared, almost tripped over his own feet and kicked one in, caught in no man's land a couple of times bailed out by a magnificent Cash slide tackle. There's always going to be a drop in quality between your first and second choice, but not to this extent. Made a couple of decent saves tbf, but saves a keeper should be making. If he's our cup keeper then we're not winning anything. Still, all's well that ends well. Other than that it was a piece of piss and thoroughly professional which is nice to say. I thought their fans were good.Considering the opposition I don’t think Tielemams did enough to impress Emery and push for a start in the league. Maybe he was trying too hard but his first touch at times, was off. Olsen made a couple of decent saves but his handling doesn’t give the defence confidence and he nearly let that back pass go under his foot. Maybe he’ll grow the more he plays but he’s not going anywhere so we’ll have to back him when he plays.

He had some good pre-season games as well and now seems to have hidden. He spent all season hiding in the relegated Leicester team. His mentality has been weakened through that. Let's see if Emery can turn him around.

He lacks the lace for that role. The only place he can play is next to either Kamara or Douglas Luiz. He needs someone next to him who can do the running so he can dictate play from deep.
