Job done with extreme prejudice. I feel sorry for Hibs fans who were hoping to see a different result. We should be able to manage the second leg now. The expression 'Onwards and upwards' has never felt more appropriate.
We been in the same position a few times

Give young Feeney his head in the return leg. Lad's gonna be a baller. Think we've sold off all our other young lads unfortunately so I'm not sure who else we can blood.
Omari Kellyman. Maybe Kaden Young. Kerr Smith. Or Rory Wilson...

Tbh though, it wouldn't be a bad night to give the back four more time to play together. Cash, Carlos, Torres, Digne (currently) Would give them time to get used to each other a bit more & build up a partnership. Even if its only Carlos & Torres...

I’d certainly like to see that.
They need more game time together as it’s a new partnership.

The difference between the two leagues was absolutely stark, it looked like men against boys from the off.

When we lost the ball, we took it back. We won all the 50/50s. We passed and moved with speed and invention.

We did all that without really at any point raising our level above that of a preseason friendly.

The difference between the leagues is just stratospheric.

I wonder if those Hibs fans who have tickets for the Holte will be selling them 😉

Won 5-0 without even playing that well to be honest.  Hard to gauge anything from such a one sided game really.  Hibs were outclassed - mid table League One level at best.

They interviewed Unai Emery on BBC Scotland after the game a and he said that he respected Hibs and the competition tonight and would be doing so in the second leg.  I'd imagine he would want them to get into the rhythm of Thursday and Sunday games.

Even just looking at the players near each other on the pitch ours just looked bigger and stronger. I half expected some of their players to do a Louis Tomlinson and throw up after being challenged.

I really don’t think Emery is one for ‘Playing the kids’
Maybe one or two and a couple on the bench, but certainly not a complete change

Obviously the money has made a huge difference over the years but there’s always been a gulf there.  Scottish teams used to be able to do English teams on their strength and sheer Scottish bravado.  Even the PL players look like unbelievable physical specimens these days.  Carlos being the obvious case in point.

I actually enjoyed the commentators because they had actually done their research on our players both on the pitch, bench and treatment table. Makes a change to the ignorant pundits on most English channels.
