Yep, could probably be trained to do the sort of job Ramsey does for us as well.

He can play all across the attacking mid spots. LW, CAM, RW.

I'm surprised we haven't seen him get a few minutes at the end of some of the home games we've been winning comfortably. I know just being on the bench and around the squad is experience, but a few minutes wouldn't hurt. Although it might be down to Emery actually meaning what he says about respecting the opposition all the time.

II'm honestly not surprised by it, how Emery has worked since he arrived makes it pretty clear that players need to learn what's expected and train to take advice on board. For youngsters giving them time around the first team in training and on the bench is going to be a big part of that learning curve and they've only come in when Emery thinks they're ready to do the job.

He only turned 18 in September - he's still VERY young in terms of being involved in the first team.  He's looked really good in the bits we've seen of him, but if his progress continues I'd only expect him to get the odd few minutes throughout the season, and then a decent loan next year in the Championship.  Then back with us in the first-team squad as he turns 20.

Given where we are in the league, I don't think we should read too much into an 18 year old not yet breaking through to be a regular appearance from the bench.

I'm not talking about him being a regular. I just mean we're 5-1 up against Brighton at home and there's 10 minutes left, why not give him a taste. I'm not complaining, by the way, I just thought we might have seen him get a few minutes after he played against Hibs.

I think it's interesting that he (and Iroegbunam) has been included in the official squad photo they've posted today. I reckon that suggests he's not far off getting some game time and I'd also question whether we'll bother sending him out on loan.

Does a player have to be 18 and on a pro contract  before you can send him out on loan?

I'd assume it will depend on if we're still in Europe after Christmas, and how that influences January recruitment, as to whether he goes on loan or not. Might be the best option for him for this season, with the hope being that he can be worked into the squad over the summer and stay with us next season.

He can play all across the attacking mid spots. LW, CAM, RW.

That'll save us triggering the buy-back clause with Sheff Utd.

Agree with Paul that OK could fill the slot that JJ plays so well in.

The problem at the moment is that OK looks stick-thin and has nowhere near the physical power of JJ.

Time to get the steaks and Guiness diet sheet out, methinks.

That's true.

They should feed OK with whatever JJ was put on!

He should have some involvement on Thursday. We have to find options in the Bailey / Zaniolo / attacking MF space, and  - for what people are saying here (I've not really seeeen him play) - OK could be that option whilst JRam is still unavailable.
