O Sole Mio
« on: July 05, 2023, 09:07:21 AM »
An advert from Wall’s has resurfaced – the Just One Cornetto one and has reminded me of one of my favourite memories. When English teams were allowed back into European football Villa travelled to Milan to play Inter and the Italians were noticeably apprehensive of us. At the end of the game our fans broke into the advert song which was to the tune of Ole Solo Mio – a Neapolitan song. The incomprehension on the Italian fans faces was a sight to behold.  Anyone else remember it?

I was there that night, don't rememeber this specifically but I do remember some Inter fans coming over and exchanging scarves and flags which was nice, but a couple of nobs threw something which obviously didn't go down so well

I was also there and don’t remember that being sung.
