Will there be any soul searching concerning the” best league in the world “ having no representation from the Sky 6 in Europe?
Is it purely the number of games?

No, it's just that once in a while results go that way. It was unlikely that Spurs or Chelsea were going to contribute much this season. Not being in Europe n'  that.

Man Utd are very flaky. Liverpool had a quarter-final against a good team with a good manager, but probably had enough chances in the first leg to have not lost. Arsenal narrowly lost their first quarter-final in a decade so were probably did better overall than expected. Man City were on the wrong end of a penalty shoot-out.

So I'm not sure playing fewer games changes any of that. Assuming that's the six clubs you mean.
It seems that the level of injuries being carried by so many PL teams very high in comparison to previous seasons.
So I was wondering if that is a factor or potential excuse.

I think it's a factor, on top of the covid delayed Euro's and a World Cup mid season.

At least Liverpool fans can stop moaning about their anticipated ticket allocation for Dublin now.

They've gone from winning the Quadruple, to the League Cup in the space of a month.

Beautiful, isn't it?!

And don't forget all those 12.30 ko Saturday games Liverpool had to play, plus HM the Queen passed away and  chaos caused by Truss and Kwarteng...the list is endless.

Sandwell should have battered them. They've missed a shit load of chances.
