Same here. Even on R5 this morning, they were banging on about how versatile Gomez was, being able to play at right back and central defence. No mention of Konsa doing exactly that, where he in fact played the two positions in the one match last night, and has easily been one of the best players in both games, and was undoubtedly the best defender.

Not according to some people on here last night.

Fun fact, the scene of (Firth's) Darcy emerging from the lake doesn't happen. He swims and you next see him walking his horse to the mansion.

"...and believe me I've checked, time and time again"

I actually did as I was trying to link it for Dogtanian as he was unaware of it. I now believe in the mandela effect and that our reality and others are bleeding into each other and changing all the time.

Surely when we're taking three goalies we can take three strikers?

They have to take three keepers. They don't have to take three strikers

Don't have to but why wouldn't you? Although I admit I haven't looked at any of the predicted squads floating around.

If we were playing with two strikers starting, then yes, three to go would be the option. But we play with one upfront and then lots of attacking wingers / midfielders so I can see why only two out and out forwards would be taken, although Watkins should be considered ahead of Rashford at the moment.

Looking at the two matches, Watkins  had a full 90 mins against Brazil and Toney didn't even get a look-in even though we were losing with 10 mins to go. Against Belgium, we were again losing with 10 mins to go, and he brought Watkins on for Toney. So it could be looked at that Watkins shades it ahead of Toney in the managers eyes on that. I would also argue that if the striker starting appearances had been swapped. Toney would have got no goals against Brazil, and Watkins might have got the one against Belgium without needing to earn the Pen as that ball through he thrives on for us, and he is slightly faster then Toney.

Objectively it would be bonkers not to take a striker with 20 odd goals and 10 assists.

It's Southgate, anything is possible.

It doesn’t matter who he takes.  They’ll bungle their way out of the group.  And then get knocked out by France in the semis.  After sitting back hoping for penalties or a moment of magic.

Excellent! Poland in the finals.

Feel sorry for Dan James as he was probably MOTM for me.

He only came on with 20 mins of normal time left.

I think I got him mixed up with someone else. Is there another James?

Jordan James, plays for the rags and is a highly rated midfielder.

just about got over last night !

Yes James looks the real deal wouldn't be surprised if a prem league comes in for him in the not too distant future

Troy Deeney said this about Ollie Watkins - "He's a winger trying to be a striker"

He actually said that. How many wingers score 22 goals with a quarter of the season left?

Did he have too many vegan pies in his week as a football manager?  Substitute trying for succeeding and he might have a point

That would be the Deeney with more bans as a manager than wins. And he only had 1 ban.

I thought he was the best defender, but also that he could have done slightly better for both goals. Fine margins though.

And its not compulsory to take Rashford.
