The big match tonight is Ukraine v Italy, a draw will be enough for Italy to qualify.

Good to see Rico Lewis jump the queue and get a start. I wonder if that would have happened if he wasn’t at Man City. Answers on a postcard

Which left-backs are you worried that he's jumped ahead of in this queue?

He’s done pretty well playing Trippier who is a really a RB at LB. I’d sooner seen him keep his place than throw in a kid barely out of the academy, and not player Harry Maguire again at CB and rotated there.

Trippier is not available for this match.

Yeh…Well that fucks up my argument doesn’t it. FFS. I suppose the point I’m making is how does Lewis get in and a player like Rico Henry or the lad at Palace Mitchel not get a chance with a greater body of work.

Rico Henry's out for the season with a knackered ACL. He might well be playing tonight if he weren't.

I don't really see the issue with Lewis over (e.g) Mitchell. Lewis will probably be in and around the England squad for a decade on what he's shown so far. Mitchell probably won't. So giving the former a bit of experience over using the latter just on the grounds of being a proper left-back, in a pretty meaningless match isn't really something to gripe about in my opinion.

He obviously doesn’t want to risk Kane on the dodgy pitch tonight so, through in Watkins to see if we can get their only striker injured. Cheers Mouthgate.

Zaniolo has gotten a somewhat questionable looking haircut.

Bryan Cristante on the bench for Italy, I saw us linked with him earlier today. Might be nothing in it. Apparently he's named after Bryan Ferry.

A measured and calm response to the selection of Lewis from the commentary team.

Dimwits.
